Just announced on talk sport
13 November 2014 at 8:04 pm #135422Strange. There must be someone lined up
13 November 2014 at 8:19 pm #135429I quite liked Rosler, last seasons win at City was unbelievable, was really hoping he’d turn it around.
13 November 2014 at 8:21 pm #1354314 wins in 27 games It was inevitable
13 November 2014 at 8:35 pm #1354344 wins in 27 games It was inevitableProbably. And I STILL don’t think the football was all that bad. Results were bad, granted. So, I suppose, given that it didn’t look like changing any time soon…

It was the interview I saw on the Latics site – later edited, which tells a story in itself – after the Bolton game that did it for me. His body language was all wrong and him admitting to not knowing how to change things, well it was inevitable really.

That’s the problem though, the Championship is all about the results, performance second. Unlike the Prem, when we knew we were bound to lose a few games, possibly in succession, the performance was more important sometimes ie not throwing in the towel and getting hammered like at Spurs, Chelsea etc.
You can’t win sometimes as a manager. The Derby result was almost as bad really for Uwe because it showed up that every game in this division is winnable, so why the hell are we in this mess?
13 November 2014 at 9:31 pm #135454For me the football has been awful recently. We were just hoofing it from defence totally bypassing the midfield, we couldn’t string 5 passes together. Uwe was great for 3 months then it got gradually worse. Sounds awful but I am looking forward to the next game more now.
13 November 2014 at 9:43 pm #135455I can remember when he first came and he played a very high line constantly pressing the oppoition quite like southamptons style last season. Then… we just stopped playing that way, players became very unfit and it just went downhill. Im mystified as to with such a deep squad we find ourselves in this position but agree he had to go.

People are saying “how can he have suddenly become a bad manager having got us to the play-offs from an awful position last year?”.
I don’t know how, but the fact is that the style has changed, the confidence has gone, the fitness levels he insisted on are nowhere to be seen, the fast moving style of play he espoused has not appeared.
I don’t know why. But it has. And so, I’m afraid, it is time for a change before it’s too late to save the season.
