Yeah they fall into the same kind of category. Ok so they may have been brought up on other teams by their fathers and grand fathers but there is no need to despise your home town club (assuming they are Wiganers) Probably jealousy because they could have never envisaged us being in the Premiership and now we are here they are too embarrassed to follow us so they put us down instead. I was working in Tamworth for a couple of years and West Brom had just gone down. I was having a tattoo done and when the artist saw my Latics one he started probing me on why i supported them. My answer was really simple, I was Wigan born and bread. he insisted it was a joke we were in the Premiership as our fans and club size wasn’t good enough to be here and we had effectively stole his teams place in the top league. I weathered the storm for a while then pointed out that Tamworth had a football team and he elected to support West Brom. I asked why and all he could say was, Tamworth are s**t.
12 October 2012 at 11:02 pm #94917Anonymousagree chr..yosser, the whole playstation generation/sky brainwashed media drivel has buried itself deep into the DNA of certain “fans”. They are so shallow, they believe that because a team gets 30k every game, they automatically should be in the top flight?????
They don’t talk about the standard of football, way the club is run, finances, stability etc. They are so pathetic it’s quite amusing. The tossers that talk about crowd sizes being relevant to top flight status tend to follow teams that:
1. Play hoofball, thuggish football – west spam etc
2. Have financial issues – Leeds, west spam, palace, bolton, brum.
3. Have history (100+ years) but live in the past and can’t believe that a team like wafc are now part of the furniture in the top flight – forest, derby, sheff wed/utd,ipswich etc. They talk about crowds because we have neither of the above, yet hold our own in the league they so desperately crave to succeed in. And we have done it whilst staying within our means and not paying desperately high wages in a desperate attempt to stay in the prem.
AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL – WE PLAY FOOTBALL – THE SPORT THAT THESE TOSSERS SEEM TO FORGET THEY FOLLOW, SEEING AS THEY NEVER FRIGGIN TALK ABOUT IT!
Good luck all WAFC players on international duty tonight – Not bad for a “small club” eh!
