30 March 2013 at 3:39 am #106691Just a couple of quick questions for our fat friends who try to point score re attendances.
1. Has your average attendance over a season matched that of the Latics over the last eight seasons?
If yes, state the season and the average attendance, please don’t count Cup Finals and Millennium Misery weekends were 8 teams always claim to have had 30,000 watching them.2. How many times since you moved into our ground have you topped 20,000 spectators for a league match?
I am not sure of the answer to question one, and I definitely don’t know the answer to the 2nd question.
I do however know how many times The Latics have topped 20,000 for a league match. The answer to the first one would be never other than when away averages are taken away.
The second one I would guess at 15 but will get back to you in a moment
EDIT – The answer is 19 including twice already this season in just 5 games.

30 March 2013 at 11:46 am #10669922800 was surpassed against Wolves last season :woohoo: :woohoo:
http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-report/?matchid=3409881&tcmuri=19904
21986. almost 2,000 LESS than today’s attendance
Have another go….
Two questions ahem
1 Was it a sell out bearing in mind the capacity of the DW ?
2 I know you never anawered me last time did you actually go ?
And my personel chuffed bit is a Chubbie is bragging about a bigger attendance than the tics How times have changed
1. Yes. Due to the North/south stands being unreserved seating, then the capacity of those is cut. The corner of the Boston stand is also left unsold – probably due to that large screen that sky bring, and a clearance area should it fall. There will never be 25000 on for a Superleague game, nor will there be that figure for a PL game in the future as the North Stand capacity has been cut, and the front few rows are not sold, added to the 1st block of the Boston stand also never being sold.
2. No I didnt go. Unfortuntely I am on duty over the weekend over 150 miles from Wigan – the nature of my job means someone is on call 24/7 and if those who live locally in their own houses dont cover Bank Holidays, it means one of the young kids would have to be on call and stay in an 8 ft by 8 ft single room all weekend, rather than enjoying a weekend with their family miles away.
Now, back to my question – When was the last time yesterdays attendance was surpassed? For a bonus point, who were the opponents?

Can you break it down into how many times has it been topped since the “novelty” first season, compared to that first year of top-flight football?
30 March 2013 at 11:52 am #10670323,891…….25,138 is the record attendance by WAFC…….pity our lodgers will have to wait ANOTHER 2 years to have a go at it47747 is Wigan’s record home attendance. You seem to forget that the club actually have a HISTORY.

That was the day the stadium record was achieved. Yesterdays attendance has been bettered more than once since then.
For the benefit of you and that t!t 35 whatever, who doesnt like answering questions that dont suit his personal agenda, the answer is 2011, when it was bettered twice.
The opponents in question were St Helens and St George Illawarra.

30 March 2013 at 1:54 pm #106727Rugby Leagues is a joke end of, played in only 2 counties and never ever to be compared to football. More people watch England in King Street than turn up for that egg chasing shite goodpost

i wonder how many of them turned up last week against widnes whippets???? joke sport, joke fans, cringe worthy, pointless league, hideous team names, no home of their own, no money, no prospects, no future and a merger with the much bigger union is imminent.
hope utd whack the mackems in a bit….going out watching it…..0-4
30 March 2013 at 3:23 pm #106736think our chubbie friend is also missing a key point here, when the main sport of wigan is played
away fans are limited to under 5,000
when the minority sport is played at the latics stadium their is no limit
hence our adopted team sthelens always bring over 14,000 fans
that is why the crowd is so high same with warrington at the latics stadium
with little more than 10,000 muppets on30 March 2013 at 3:27 pm #106737think our chubbie friend is also missing a key point here, when the main sport of wigan is played
