If you think the premier League has lost the plot, look at the prices for next year’s Rugby Union World Cup.
For example – England v Some no-mark team that has qualified through play-offs, at the Etihad – £50, £125, £175 and £250.
And the Final at Twickenham – hold on to your seats – £150, £315, £515 and £715.
:pinch: :woohoo:
27 November 2013 at 4:41 pm #123879Hoorah, hoorah. £715 you say? Daddy will pay. Pass the Pimm’s Rupert.
27 November 2013 at 7:12 pm #123889makes the rugby league world cup look exactly how most see it a poor mans attempt at a proper mans sport
prawn sandwich anyone .27 November 2013 at 7:18 pm #123891So by not ripping people off we’re a poor mans sport? Give me a poor mans sport any day of the week.
The games will more than likely sell out because RU has the corporate appeal that league doesn’t. Such and such a company will take fellow snobby nosed clients.
Was hoping to go to the game at the etihad but unless I get a freebie I don’t think I will be.
27 November 2013 at 7:28 pm #123895It did make me chuckle that a comparison between one sport making games accessible to all with reasonable prices and one that is hugely ripping fans off, can be turned into a condemnation of the sport that is doing the right thing

The sad thing is the “kick and clap” code (as an old work mate called it) will sell out even at those prices. G&T’s all round for the boys
If England had managed to get the 2018 Footy World Cup, I bet the prices for the final would be similar to Twickers….
28 November 2013 at 11:59 am #123914They seem to be using an awful lot of football grounds – some of whom’s names I’ve never heard of before.
Lets hope sky don’t change some of the Premier League fixtures over that period, so the rah rahs have to go and find themselves a ploughed field on Clapham Common to play instead.

Don’t knock it. Some of us have to make a living out of this sort of stuff!
