20 teams, great excitement and large crowds.

I think we know which code is stronger now eh?

…as opposed to the FA Premier League where there are 20 teams, of which two of the sides can whip most of the rest with their 2nd string players, and crowds are dropping at the majority of grounds.

I can watch RU but it does get a bit complicated at times you really need to watch it with somebody that understands what’s happening, RL the harder code but it’s a simple game! Probably explains why a lot of middle aged women watch it, Coronation st, Emmerdale, loose women, Rugby League all just rolls of the tongue!

Does that stat include the 5000 freebies for the QPR game?

Oh dear Mutts glass houses and all that

For all games next season where the away end wouldn’t usually be opened, could we do this more often?

Obviously it might not be beneficial for the club to keep giving away discounted tickets but it was great to see a packed stadium!

Would be even better if away teams filled the North Stand like most games, would make the target of 20k average attendance very reachable.

                :D

Can think which code means less to me, league of union. At least Union has a relatively world wide feel when they play a world cup.

NONE of the tickets in the North Stand on Friday were given away free BY THE CLUB. They were sold to companies such as Heinz and Applicado FS at a discounted rate. What that company does with them is their choice of course, but the club were paid for them.

Tickets for the playoff game are priced at either £18 behind the sticks or £20 in the East (might be £22 in the West). Got mine yesterday so I’m happy.

How much were they sold to Heinz and Applicado FS (seriously, who are they ?!?) for ?

I heard that Heinz employees could get 6 tickets at £2 a pop. I cant imagine Heinz buying them for more than that price and selling them at a loss. Especially when there is talk of the Kitt Green site closing.

It’s all well and good giving freebies away (they might at well be) but it simply doesnt not work in boosting the attendance, of either club, long term. It’s been proven time and time again, not just here but in other leagues around the world. As soon as someone starts to get something for free then thats it. And thats before you factor in that in this instance you are talking about Wiganers…………….

I haven’t a clue how much they were sold for but Applicado did this.

They are the clubs main sponsor. Not too sure what they do though http://www.applicado-fs.com/about1.php

                      I don’t disagree there
