On twitter..from journalist Ian mcgarry, a current premier league manager has been contacted about the liverpool job…and bob is now 7/4 favourite with skybet for the liverpool job.
would be a brilliant opportunity for him, but too soon for me
16 May 2012 at 6:54 pm #87377…. but too soon for mewhat are your odds?
16 May 2012 at 8:21 pm #87379Should have put some money on. Kenny’s gone now
16 May 2012 at 9:20 pm #87386According to the media Redknapp was already trying on FA blazers for size and trying to learn the words to God save the Queen. They , and the bookies , don’t always know for sure.
And even if Bob is asked ,hopefully he’ll say – flattered but it’s too soon.
It’d take a brave man to walk away from what he’s built here and let someone else get the benefit next season AND to start all over again at LFC but under ten times the pressure. As he’s probably spent the last three years telling the likes of McCarthy and Moses – learn your trade here and when you’re ready the big move will come.
I’m still crossing my fingers just in case though. :(
16 May 2012 at 9:58 pm #87387whelan said he would only allow him to go to a big club !!
16 May 2012 at 10:26 pm #87389I’m not so sure Liverpool will come calling for him.
They’ve seen what happened at Chelsea with AVB.
They are a big club and will want a big, or at least proven name.
As others have said, I also think Roberto will look at the opportunity and ask, “Will they give me three years and stick by me if it isn’t an instant success? – No fcking chance!”
Or at least I hope all of this is so.
[small praying smiley needed please]
16 May 2012 at 10:45 pm #87390I agree with The Squire & NP !!!
Spot on fellas.17 May 2012 at 2:22 am #87406Bob is a sensible guy – he must know that the Liverpool job is a poisoned chalice. Both Hodgson and Dalglish lasted less than 2 full seasons – there’s no way Liverpool would give Bob even that long.
On the flip side, are Liverpool really going to take a risk on a still novice top flight manager who has, on paper at least, arguably served up 2.5 seasons of dross before coming good?
17 May 2012 at 2:40 am #87407cant see it myself either.
alot of the liverpool fans seem to want a big name manager, not a bloke who i quote “had 7 bad months, and 8 good weeks”
he should stay here, build again, if we stay up next season, his stock will rise further, and he can move on with more experience behind him.
he dosent need us to tell him that anyway, he’s intelligent enough to work it out for himself.
17 May 2012 at 2:48 am #87408Quote from Gareth Roberts of the Liverpool fanzine ‘Well Red’:
“Martinez is not an upgrade on Kenny Dalglish, he’s an up and coming manager, but it doesn’t send out the right message.”
Oh the arrogance!! Long may Liverpool’s decline continue…
17 May 2012 at 2:50 am #87409There has been a big big gamble on AVB over the past couple of hours !!
17 May 2012 at 12:37 pm #87419I believe Liverpool will be looking for manager who can handle the media and doesnt try to defend players such as Suarez…. that was why he and the communications director were sacked. Liverpool are so far behind the top 4 it is unbelievable and their arrogance that they deserve to be big again is amazing. If they are not careful this could be a long term decline…
17 May 2012 at 12:58 pm #87420Well IMO 9 games does not make a good manager. Bobby still has unfinished business here and more to prove.
If king kenny had been sacked in January then bobby would not be getting linked with the job as we were in shocking form at that time!
17 May 2012 at 1:29 pm #87422They make me laugh the scousers do…..listening to TalkSport, liverpoo fans coming on from places like Cardiff, Devon etc saying they should go for Guardiola because LFC are massive….some guy said about getting Ancelotti from PSG…..hahaha
Deluded is not the word…..they will end up with either some American coach or Rafa again…..but not Bob!!!
