Not a snowball in hells chance of it returning after the events of the last few weeks. Bottle thrown last night the banana skin the other week and Chelsea fans being arseoles will surely be a massive setback to the reintroduction of standing areas at stadia.
20 December 2018 at 1:49 pm #174161What has throwing things and being a racist got to do with standing up?
20 December 2018 at 2:34 pm #174163Nothing directly, but it just gives the authorities another stick to beat the football fan with.
20 December 2018 at 2:52 pm #174166It’s a stick some fans deserve beating with. Untill we can all act civilised we will be keeping seats I’m afraid. A shame really.
Talking to a few Young Boys fans recently and they stand and both drink and smoke whilst watching. They were amazed at how sterile how our stadiums had become.20 December 2018 at 7:07 pm #174172Not a snowball in hells chance of it returning after the events of the last few weeks. I take on board Otter’s comments that football’s critics will use any excuse to beat the football fan with but these 3 incidents are of on relevance whatsoever to the reintroduction of some form of terracing

Exactly
20 December 2018 at 10:18 pm #174178Are you guys serious?, stadiums became all seated after the Hillsborough and Heysel disasters plus many more instances of fans misbehaving. We now know that Hillsborough was down to other factors but it was still blamed on the fans initially. Most politicians are not in favour of bringing back terracing as it is and whether we like it or not the recent problems will only make it harder for standing to be brought back. The guys at Chelsea and the Spurs fan have been quickly identified and punished and the pc brigade will openly put it down to them being in a seated area. If you think that there is no relevance between recent problems and standing areas being reintroduced then your deluded. As per usual and because Chelsea fans were at it again in Europe politics will take over and cack handedly the powers that be will over react.

If you think that there is no relevance between recent problems and standing areas being reintroduced then your deluded. They haven’t been reintroduced and as you said above….they were in a seated area. Muppet.

He’ll be blaming Paul Cook next.

When the fook have you ever seen me post anything negative on here about Cookie Stu?
And we will see if I’m reet when it goes to parliament and the bill gets rejected. See then who is a Muppet.
21 December 2018 at 11:48 am #174189The fact it will get rejected will have nothing whatsoever to do with bottle throwing or racism.
21 December 2018 at 11:54 am #174190Really don’t see how you’re getting a link between the two TBH Nuneaton. You even said yourself they were in a seated area.
21 December 2018 at 1:10 pm #174191Really don’t see how you’re getting a link between the two TBH Nuneaton. You even said yourself they were in a seated area.Sorry egg if I’m coming across a bit vague with my point so ill try to put it over better. The do gooders will point out that the culprits of the recent troubles were easily identified and dealt with because they was in seats. Originally the government passed a bill after the Justice Taylor report deeming every stadium in the top 2 divisions must be all seated. This was the then governments way of tackling the hooligan problem within the game. And tbh it has massively improved behaviour inside stadiums. Lately however it seems to be creeping back in especially in London and yet again the do gooders will argue that standing areas will only exasperate the problem. So whilst many within the game want it the powers that be will make the decision and will have to overturn their original decision. How many times do government do that. I genuinely don’t see it happening especially if it becomes obvious that these troubles are on the increase.
21 December 2018 at 2:53 pm #174199Again, I really don’t get how you’re coming to that conclusion. We all know the government will use any stick to beat football fans with but I would suggest that people being stood as they are below is far easier to spot who is who than a standard terrace would be because basically you’re the same distance apart as you are in your seat.
21 December 2018 at 3:00 pm #174200I don’t think safe standing will be allowed but it will have very little to do with racism and throwing bottles.
