According to Wigan Today this morning Sam was told he was surplus to requirements after one training session.
If that is true it is nothing short of disgusting as he was one of the pivitol players to help us to promotion last season. Not even given a chance.
Good luck Sam.You hit the nail on the head when you said last season. Have a look at his contribution, played in 16 games, most of them as a sub and scored one goal.
I quite liked the boy, but I don’t see him week in week out in training like GC and team do.

Barnsley are really taking the league by storm by going out and trying to win games from the kick off. I wonder if we went down and they went up would we have Sam loaned out to them in the Premier League so he could get some valuable first team experience?
Morsy was an unused substitute tonight for Barnsley, so their progress and great result tonight wasn’t down to him.

Good luck Sam.If you listen to the interview, the emphasis that he puts on the word “one” makes it sound like his is referring to one as in “a” training session & not one as in the “first” training session.
Time will tell whether Caldwell is right or wrong, but I wouldn’t describe him as pivotal last season at all. he played his part granted but he played some, he didn’t others, was good in some & not in others

Having done so, he decided that he couldn’t do the job that he needed him to do & so told him that it was best if the club moved him on.As for the comment that he’d seen the replacements less – well of course he has. Any manager who brings a player in is the same. If they don’t make the signing on that basis alone then no manager would ever bring in new players.
Like I said, time will tell whether Caldwell has made the correct decision but out of all of us he knows the player best
You are probably right Tyldesley and you use the same argument that some people used when Rosler took us into the shit. Hope Gary doesn’t take us the way Rosler did.
Everyone keeps harping on about Morsy, but Colclough looks to be a far better player to me and he too has been seny out on loan.
To be fair neither set league one afire last season, so the Championship may be a step too far at this stage of their careers.
What I have seen of Gilbey, Powell and for that matter Gomez, it appears that GC has done the right thing in loaning them out, as these three are far superior players.
Get behind the team instead of fucking whinging all the time!!!!Powell needs to show me something this season. hes done nothing whatsoever so far apart from his trademark playacting. Thought he would be up for it and Gary would have got the best out of him, but so far very dissapointed.

To be fair to them and the ones who Gary has not rated the problem has been down to Gary and his tactics and swapping and changing and the inevitable constraints on budgets.
Never mind we picked up last season and will this year starting tomorrow.
