Not at the game today due to work so had to make do with listening on wish fm. Listening to warren joyce’s post match interview, he stated that morsy is “his kind of player.” He has also mentioned one or two other things worth noting. Methinks that he will be staying.
7 January 2017 at 9:48 pm #153846I hopo so he was fantastic today. Makes a huge difference in midfield with him in it. Brings a balance to the team we haven’t see for a long while.
7 January 2017 at 10:08 pm #153847I thought the balance of the whole team was right today.
The engine room of Morsy and McDonald, complemented by the smooth silky skills of the creative Gomez, was the best I’ve seen in ages.
The tempo and energy levels of all the players seemed to have doubled from the previous games, Will Grigg looked like a man possessed, winning the majority of the long balls and making the runs intio the box at the right time.
Power seems to have found a good position in the team and was encouraged by WJ all the game to get involved.
This was the key for me, too often players, particularly midfielders and defenders, have passed the ball and then thought that their work is done. Today I heard WJ shout “get involved”, “join in” and consequently we have foraged in numbers and not in ones and twos.
Lets hope we can take this into our league games, if we can I think we will get ourselves out of this mess.
Well done to WJ for taking the FA Cup seriously! :cheer:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!7 January 2017 at 10:19 pm #153850Best performance for quite a while. That said, Forest were awful.
Let’s hope we can continue as today…agree Morsy made the difference with Gomez when he came on….and the Fire has been rekindled :woohoo:
Who do we want in the draw tomorrow? A lower league side and see how far we can get or ManUre etc next round? As usual, we’ll probably get another team from our division….I’m betting Derby away
7 January 2017 at 10:26 pm #153851Lower league at home please.

8 January 2017 at 12:26 am #153858I reckon its Wolves away.
8 January 2017 at 12:30 am #153859Lower league at home please. Why? 5000 of their fans and none of ours?
Either a top 6 PL club at home or the lowest ranked team away.

8 January 2017 at 12:44 am #153865Morsy totally deserved the MOTM, always available, always has instant control, always plays the ball accurately and then makes himself available again. Every team needs one, nothing flash, just a hard worker who keeps the play ticking over. We should offer him an increased wage to keep Barnsley at bay; clearly personal terms haven’t been agreed, so they must be playing hard ball. He made the team tick today.
