I hope he gets some time on the pitch.
It was frustrating at the Euros watching the NI matches willing Grigg to be brought on every time the subs board went up.
I still can’t understand how their manager picked the other forwards over Grigg, especially with the form he was in leading up to the tounament.
Hopefully Sam will fare better for Egypt.…and if he does play and has a good World cup?Be careful what you wish for…
If he has a good World Cup, then it is good news all round.
Sam gets the plaudits, Wigan Athletic get more worldwide exposure.
His value rockets and if he goes on to sign for a bigger club we cash in and replace him with another up and coming star of the future, whilst banking millions and helping towards securing our future.
We are Wigan Athletic, it is what we do, and what we are good at.
We as club have never stood in the way of a player bettering himself and never will.

Brilliant that he’s in the squad, but honestly can’t see him starting much, and if he does get game time I suspect he’s not going to set the world on fire. That’s genuinely not being disrespectful to him, I love him to bits, but on the world stage he isn’t one that people are going to be hunting down.

He didn’t look out of place when coming on as a second half sub against Belgium. Was a bit over exuberant in one or two challenges lucky not to get booked. He was obviously trying to make a mark on the game and made a big mark on Chadli’s leg!
