Martinez told Sky Sports: “From our point of view we are disappointed. I don’t think we – apart from the first 15 minutes – reached anywhere near our level.
“We need to learn why and the reason is because we conceded two goals too early and we helped Arsenal massively.
“But they deserve huge credit in the manner in which they took advantage of that.”
He added: “We know what we’re good at, we know how we have to play to get results and today, unfortunately, the two goals that we conceded were too soft, too quick and psychologically they really affected the rest of the performance.”
Haven’t I heard all this before… Like after every game  2-0 down and instead of bringing another forward on to help Connor Sammon and at least give it a go, he swaps it like for like. What do you expect from players when your manager says he doesn’t expect to win these games against, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man Utd.,but he wants the players to go out and enjoy themselves  Has there been a worst manager in Premier league history, other than this clown, who has lasted 2 1/2 years without getting the sack

I thought Paul Jewell took this attitude as well never mind carry on
Sorry Griff…I don’t understand that comment. I’m new on here but I think bronxbomber has summed up Roberto’s summaries of all his games in charge perfectly. His favourite comment of “We will learn from this”, doesn’t seem to be sinking in to the players because we are now bottom of the Premiership after his 1 1/2 seasons in charge. Perhaps it’s time for a change…?

No need to apologise, newbie.. I don’t give a flyer what you think
Well, that was a waste of time…it looks like the ‘Posts’ count only increments on posting to different threads…ah well…I’m new to all this (Isn’t there a way of putting proper smilies/grumpies on here)
Hi Griff… I’m sure that everybody who posts on here are supporters of WAFC (…well apart from the obvious rugby and rival team comments) and we all have different views. Mine is definately that Roberto Martinez isn’t good enough to manage a premiership side. I wish he’d taken up the offer to go To Aston Villa and prove me wrong but, to his personal credit, he decided to have another go at turning us into the Barcelona of the Premiership. Unfortunately he hasn’t got players good enough to play the way he wants. The players at Villa would probably have been more suited to the way he wants to play so it would have benefited both us and Villa if he’d taken up that position last season…He’ll move on eventually but where will we be then?
