I felt sorry for the lad last night, that could (I say, could) have kick-started his, and possibly the whole teams’s, season.

One thing I’ll give him is that he doesn’t give up. He might, or might not, go on a scoring spree, but I’d be surprised if a striker wasn’t on the top of our January shopping list. Rods is too lightweight for that lone striker role, so we need bodies. We also desperately need a leader on the pitch, as we don’t have someone who can give the players the kick up the bum they often need.
I think once he gets his first goal and gets that monkey off his back, we will then see a better player, come on lets have a reality check here, he’s moved from the championship to the premier league, to a club that does not have a proven striker at this level, who would not find that hard?
I think the lad as heart, once the first goal goes in then we’ll see!
We all know he’s not good enough, but he is the only other recognised striker in the squad. So, until we get someone better in January (hopefully) he is what we’ve got.

in the stadium there has been no booing, or cheering when he has been taken off,he has had a pretty easy ride apart from a few people on message boards he has got off lightly.
scotland is not the problem and i do feel sorry for him,because he would love to be better and grasp his premiership chance,the problem as i have maintained all along is the man who invested 3 million in him in the first place.now he deserves the “slagging off”

Both club and country he has been prolific thats why we got him in but moving him onto the wing is nothing short of bad tactics in my book especially now I have seen the video montage !
It’s not so much him playing in a central striker role that I have a problem with, but more the lone striker role with a lack of support from midfield. The role of one forward here is a hold up/target man role and Hugo is too lightweight for that. Playing two up front with Scotland, or his replacement, doing the donkey work would suit him, but it’s going to be difficult getting Bobby to shift from his 4-5-1 ideas.
As I say to my lads – its a team effort! You should never blame the keeper coz if the team was playing correctly it wouldn’t get as far as the keeper having to make a save! Same old upfront – maybe he hasn’t had the proper breaks to get his first but I too am confident that when he does – he’l score 4 fun! I think he deserves a bit more of a break! Yes there is someone to blame, for me, and its Mr Whelan – watch this space after the January transfer window – he’l line his pockets again and get rid of our best players – then Martinez will have no choice but to bring in his old Swansea squad! I don’t give a monkies if he drowns puppies or even if he shot JR (lol) – we need a Chairman who supports football and stops getting shut of our decent players, especially this year – he’s supposed to be selling up so we’l probably see him round Wigan doing his Xmas shopping with his transfer window fees! jason scotland will score against blackburn, he might even get 2. but put your money on jason roberts to score first, i predict it to be 2 apiece ;)
I think he’l score tomorrow – then, he’l score at Blackburn too – can’t wait for tomorrow’s local derby – we should snatch 6 points over the next 2 games but we never know with the ever unpredictable Mighty Ones! and yes I did laugh out loud.

I just hope this time Whelan doesn’t let all of our players go, we really really need to keep hold of N’zogbia and Rodallega as they are our main threats. I also dont think that Rodallega is too lightweight for th lone striker role, for me he seems to be able to win headers and handle himself quite well.
