Fair play to the club, it’s a really good offer.Because of the circumstances I don’t think the streaming alternative costs the club anything, so I think I’ll plump for that option irrespective of whether I will be able to watch them or not.
Dont forget you cant stream it direct to your TV using chromecast or other SmartTV apps, i read that in the info somewhere, so you can only watch it on a device or your pc or laptop

In short, when the EFL announced (without consulting anyone) that all season ticket holders could watch the games on iFollow, it meant Latics lost a lot of revenue.

In what way? Were they planning to charge ST holders to stream the games?
The cost is covered by the season charge for Latics TV and advertising.
There were several options being planned, but the EFL forced the hand as it were.
