Oh it would have been funny if he’d let it go – but then again we’d probably have missed :D
18 April 2018 at 3:12 pm #168331I would imagine we knew what he was going to do otherwise Morsy (and everyone else) would have been furious.
18 April 2018 at 3:13 pm #168332I agree. Funny though.
18 April 2018 at 3:47 pm #168338I know there’s a ref that posts on here sometimes. I’m curious to know if the laws of the game would have meant that the ref was in his rights to let us carry on? He’d already told Oxford to line up but they carried on faffing around.

I don’t know if anyone remembers but when we played Wrexham in the Auto Windscreens Northern Final in 1999 at the Racecourse Ground, Simon Haworth scored down at their end & then ran all the way back up the pitch to the away end (accompanied by all the players). The ref in that game let Wrexham take the kick off & for play to continue – you can see the moment on the season highlights dvd/video when the players realise that they’ve kicked off
18 April 2018 at 7:00 pm #168342Didn’t the sweaties win a game that way?. The home team refused to come out so the heathens kicked off and scored and won the game.
18 April 2018 at 8:02 pm #168343Not quite.
They didn’t refuse to come out, they didn’t turn up at the stadium.18 April 2018 at 9:51 pm #168347Not quite.

18 April 2018 at 11:06 pm #168353Tilders, if the referee was ready to start the 2nd half and we obviously were could he have allowed us to go up field and score?. Is there any precedences that have been set. Is it simply down to playing the game in the correct spirit. What action could he have taken against Oxford for delaying the game.

Not sure if it’s ever led to goals though
The ref could have cautioned the captain for delaying the restart of play19 April 2018 at 3:13 am #168361Cheers marrer
