co-op ….£50 return on train and a night in a hostel near earls court… happy bunny
Sorry to piss on yer bonfire mate but ……………………..
trains are running as normal earlier the planned work is between 6:00pm and 6:00am the following morning – so anyone doing the trip methven is talking of will be ok
having said that you would have to pay me £500 to stop in an earls court flee pit. ;)
11 March 2014 at 10:44 pm #128552There are planned engineering works on the main West Coast line, so on Saturday the 12th Virgin will be running a bus service from Stafford to Warrington Bank Quay.
Perhaps it will be possible to travel there direct via Manchester Piccadilly.
I’m not sure about getting home by train on Saturday or Sunday.
12 March 2014 at 4:49 am #128577I know somebody who was due to land in Manchester at 12ish after a few days in Benidorm
now landing at Luton at 12ish.I suspect she would rather it was on Sunday
12 March 2014 at 8:01 pm #128603Arsenal are now out of Europe.
They have lost ground in the Premier League and may have to settle for fourth place behind Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The semifinal assumes greater importance as it is now their only opportunity to win a trophy.
But injuries are adding up. Midfielder Jack Wilshere is out for at least six weeks with a foot injury. And now midfielder Mesut Ozil is facing “at least a few weeks” out after injuring his hamstring against Bayern Munich.
12 March 2014 at 9:03 pm #128604Yes and they are also the team to get us relegated to the championship (we should thank them) that should be enough to get the boys going .
13 March 2014 at 4:00 pm #128625Ozil may even face a race against time to be fit for the Gunners’ Wembley FA Cup semi-final showdown with Wigan on April 12.
13 March 2014 at 5:25 pm #128629Last year we sold about 20,000 of our 31,000 allocation. That’s not a bad turnout for the time and place.Millwall sold all their tickets – their fans could get there by Tube and be home in time for tea.
The club & FA never revealed how many tickets they’d sold for the semi-final but if you think how full the same areas were for the final when Latics took an initial allocation of 21,000 (allegedly took some of the other 4,0000 they had an option on) as opposed to how empty they were for the semi-final, I don’t think that there was anywhere near 20k Latics fans there for the Millwall game.
Not that it matters coz I was there & no doubt virtually everyone on here was there but looking at last year’s semi-final & how many were shifted for the final I think we’ll take somewhere between 15k-20k to the Arsenal game

Hopefully 20k minimum.
Last year quite a few people were put off going by it being Millwall and confidence that we would get to the final.
20k is pretty respectable though, given the KO time and travelling distance. How many will not travel because it’s on ITV this year
Quite a few Millwall fans last year admitted they wouldn’t have sold 31k had it been at Old Trafford…we might well have done!

I would say 20k tops.
Plenty of people used the “millwall excuse” for not going to the auto windscreens final in 1999 & then the year after when we played there against Gillingham still didn’t go
I also think that you’ll have the “I took the gamble on them getting to the play off final” excuse/valid reason tooBasically though the demand isn’t there – Latics aren’t an “old club” with generations of latent support to call on. Everyone interested in the club & who doesn’t support (even from the comfort of their own armchair) someone else pretty much goes (although not all of them every week).
having looked a bit more I think we sold 23k for last year’s final. I just don’t think we’ll sell 20k for a semi-finalAnyway, lets stop obsessing about how many we think will go coz I’m sure the media & other supporters will do that for us. Lets just enjoy the fact that our club have reached the alst 4 of the FA Cup for the second year in a row & enjoy it. Some supporters never get to see their team play there & we’ve had it 4 times in under a year
13 March 2014 at 7:22 pm #128635I think that supply will exceed demand.
In that case, everybody should be able to get the number of tickets they want.
Last year, season ticket holders were allowed three each initially.
13 March 2014 at 11:03 pm #128639Apparently Wenger has been on to the FA moaning about wanting to move the semi-final to a neutral ground.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!14 March 2014 at 9:54 am #128664Play it at Old Trafford then I assume he would be pleased with that :woohoo:

Yes but its getting the seats/price they want. Will people not go because they will not get the cheap seats they wanted and not willing to pay dearer?
26 March 2014 at 10:02 am #129010Arsenal’s problems continue.
Laurent Koscielny has joined the injury list and is considered a serious doubt for the semifinal. Thomas Vermaelen took his place against Swansea. As Arsenal only have three centre backs, full back Hector Bellerin was added to the first team squad.
Form is faltering too;
Chelsea 6 Arsenal 0
Arsenal 2 Swansea 2 with a last minute own-goal giving Swansea a draw last night.Arsenal are now falling back in the League race. Everton are six points behind them with a game – against Crystal Palace – in hand. And Arsenal have two big League games coming up;
Arsenal v Manchester City
Everton v ArsenalThen it’s Arsenal v Wigan.

It is no secret that we took 16,500 for the Semi and 22,000 for the Final… I would have liked to have thought we would take somewhere in between those figures for this Semi.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
