13 February 2013 at 11:26 pm #103301I dont think the semi finals should be at wembley as it takes some of the magic of the final away and it is purely a money making exercise for the FA.
But if/when we make it I will be going ;)
Someone has to pay for the new wembley,it stinks really they could have built 3 stadiums in the midlands for the price of what wembley cost.agree semi finals shoud’nt be at wembley.
13 February 2013 at 11:28 pm #103302Did you ever go to the old wembley? It was a shyte hole and you had to sit sided saddle to get your legs in. :woohoo:Yes. In 1992, 1993 (twice), 1994 (twice), 1995 (twice), 1998, 1999 and 2000.
Obviously it was a shi*thole when it was knocked down and the facilities aren’t as modern, but it had a better feel to it than the new one does. In my personal opinion of course.
14 February 2013 at 1:55 am #103319But you’d expect a ticket for the Final, Phil?
Well that is what I have stated ! How many do you envisage us taking to the semi final ? How many more would go to the final ? The two figures will be very wide apart trust me !
You’d have to leave before 85 minutes to get a quick getaway from there, Phil.
Sick of hearing this Bollox about leaving early. The lads paid his money he can leave when he likes, as can any other fan. Fookin hell what does it matter.
Have you got a full kit?
Does you have a latics bed spead?
Have you bought every programme at every game you went to?
Have you got a L4T1C5 number plate on your car?If not does it make you less of a fan?
Does it Bollox!
The thing is God ( I feel like I am saying my prayers ! ) I only ever leave early when it is a complete lost cause and we have no chance of getting anything out of the game, the rest of the time I make my way up to the exit steps for the final few minutes and watch the remainder of the game from there.I once left on the 62nd min when we went 3-0 against Villa and we were playing absolutely shite ! I was pissed off and as it is my prerogative I fucked off as I had seen enough. By the time I had got back to the Pagefield and got a pint in it was 4-0 !

I did it Fil against Port Vale years ago,3-0 down and playing utter garbage.I was in such a state I walked it home to Shevy in bits only to find we had won 5-3    needless to say I have never repeated it and always stay to the end no matter what. :)
14 February 2013 at 2:13 am #103325Agree with the semi bit. But i couldn’t not go to a semi at Wembley, just in case we lost. I’d be kicking myself for not seeing us at Wembley.
By the way, the new Wembley is great and knocks spots off the old one

I guess that was a big one off to get 5 goals in under half an hour after playing utterly shite and trailing 3-0 ! I also left the Utd game on 75 mins at 3-0 down as I had seen enough, was freezing cold and in need of the warmth of the pub plus booze! That also as you know ended 4-0 ! I guess I have soothsayer tendencies ! ;)

No punchline or anything remotely interesting on this post. Sorry.
14 February 2013 at 12:53 pm #103339I was talking about (if Latics got there) whether I’d go to both the semi & the final at Wembley.
2 trips down to London, plus the transport, plus food & drink + a stopover (which would be a deffo for the final) in little over a month would probably stretch my bank balance a tad & I’m not sure i could do it.
But I’d be gutted if I didn’t go & Latics lost
I might have to sell a kidney or sometOn the subject of the semi’s being played at Wembley, I don’t agree with it not on any only the final should be at Wembley principle but on the costs for the fans involved.
If say for example it was a Latics v Everton semi, to force both sets of fans on a 500+ mile round trip in the knowledge that one lot of em will have to repeat the trip 4 weeks later is a disgrace, especially when there’s a 77,000 capacity stadium a short train ride away14 February 2013 at 1:42 pm #103341How about we worry about Huddersfield first before we worry about Wembley!
Would be interesting how many fans who give it large on here would actually go.
Like, now the QPR game is on TV, our attendance will no doubt be less for that now.

The away following has never been big and so when you refer to the QPR game, the fact that the cameras will be there will make hardly any difference whatsoever !
