the defence 2day,captain bramble all over the place,stop spraying 40yard passes to no1,in the 2nd half a cross field ball frm left to right was 4 ever catching us out but nobody wanted to do anything about it,seen gary caldwell once last week.and ive seen enough of him to say please toss him the captains armband,cos weve no leaders on that team.

That is Bramble through and through ! Clumsy oaf, can sometimes align his body in such a way that it passes as a legal challenge but the rest of the time commits a foul and when he doesn’t do that he sprays a ball out to the left into no mans land ! Or the stands ! What a useless waste of space ! I cant actually believe some of you on here still think that he is decent ! Ok we took him under our wings and wrapped him in cotton wool but FFS he is Championship fodder at the best ! Where does he actually rate amongst all the defenders in the Prem ? Top 10 probably in the Daily Sport !
Oh yeah and I nearly forgot….His Matt Jacksonesque pace ! Come on all you Bramble fans its time to wake up and smell the coffee !
By the way anyone who frequents the East Stand it was me who shouted ” Taxi for Jackson ” the last time we saw him running up and down on the spot against Craig Bellamy !
Titus may not be captain material and he needs to work in a defence, but he has been our top defender. Don’t get too excited by caldwell. Celtic fans who I know like him but comment on his lack of pace and his own belief that he is one the best passers of the ball. It appears that not everyone agrees with his own opinion of himself. However, I am ready to wait and see how he does.
If Titus is that bad but wins player of the season, you would assume other players were worse wouldn’t you?
The whole team underestimated Notts yesterday – that’s part of the FA Cup. To lay the blame on one player is a bit shitty.
Titus Bramble makes the odd mistake but look at how many times he has cleared the ball off the line, made last ditch challenges and clearing headers. He’ll never play for England but he has been solid 95 percent of the time at Latics.
If he was the perfect defender he wouldn’t be playing for us.

I think they close their eyes and stick a pin in the team sheet coz they obviously know nowt about football or the Latics.

Most defenders struggle against Bellamy, including Rio Ferdinand who is generally regarded as one of the quickest around. To have singled out Matt Jackson like that – a player who was instrumental in getting Wigan Athletic into the Premiership – when he was coming to the end of his playing days was unecessary. Very brave!
got to say first time i`d seen mcarthy play that and i was impressed,yes it was notts county but i noticed quite a few times in nthe first half that he was the one goin round shoutin and pointin tellin other players what to do.shouldnt the captain be doin that and not an 18 year old??
Comparing Bramble to Jackson is a joke. The man’s quality the best centre half we’ve got. And pace isn’t essential as a centre half if you’re quick in the head and can read the game. And although he makes a few cock ups, he can read the game well. Alongside a quick sweeper type centre half I think we’d have a top centre back pairing.
And btw, it was me who brought a “BRAMBLE FOR ENGLAND” banner to Stoke!
