I have supported Wigan for a long time and I have never known as many braindead idiots go to the matches. Most of the time, i have to laugh but yesterday they took the ****. Things like; telling scharner to get up and get off, when he had just been elbowed in the neck ! constantly referring to Moreno as Mido- not even funny the first time never mind the 100th. I firmly believe that this guy thinks he really is Mido. Shouting, have a shot everytime Figuroa even looks at the ball.
Shouting Martinez this is sh***, after 3 minutes. I could go on.

Stop booing, stop getting on everyones back and start supporting your football team or **** off.

I have not felt that wound up and nervous during a game for ages and would like to apologise to all around me for moaning and in general being a right pain in the @rse…..at one stage I was even gettin on me own t1ts.

We all have a moan, Hindley. Its the constant abuse from some so called fans that gets me mad. There was even racist chants towards Melchiot from one goon yesterday.

Just think we need to get behind the team more- not booing at half time etc. Whatever we think of them, and believe me, I do not think Moreno, for example, is up to it- booing will achieve nothing.

The first half was cringeworthingly poor……but I would never boo the team.

I hate to say it but we have some proper morons coming to the DW this season.

Happily I reckon most of them had probably pished off before the goal was scored

Oh btw I know there are genuine reasons for fooking off early sometimes but I’m having a do at the ones who go early for no real reason…

The Match of the Day panel in E6 cleared off early because “filling the washing machine was more interesting” (3 times, in case anyone missed it).

And they missed the goal! Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Days like yesterday are what supporting Wigan Athletic is all about. Rollercoaster rides but the highs are well worth waiting for.

Never booed the team – or anybody – but I was shouting for Scharner to get off long before he allegedly got elbowed. Stealing a living in midfield that lad, but not his fault as he has no clue how to play there.

Get him back to centre-back or out completely. Useless.

                I said I didn’t boo.

But when one person is clearly adding nothing and strolling around as if he is the dog’s, I think we would be better off with someone else on. Noted that we seemed to play much better when Scotland came on his place

And he could hardly hear me shouting, so me venting my spleen from the back of the west stand wouldn’t have upset the poor little love.

I think he’s better at the back but aside from Hugo’s great header the other day, apart from Caldwell, Scharner is the one who will throw himself at a cross and adds a much needed goal threat.

Its nice to hear so many complimentary opinions for one of our longest serving players. I suspect he will be gone in the summer anyway, so you can all turn back to hating Gomez and Scotland.

But to be fair to Scharner, he does try in every game, he throws himself in and shows commitment, even if he hasnty the ability he thinks he has. Maybe he isnt always on the same wavelength as some of the others, but has scored useful goals and brought a bit of colour to the squad.

Should be a centre back who has an electronic tag to keep him in position !

Sorry, for the last few games (particularly Liverpool and Saturday), I cannot even agree that he has been trying. Just my opinion, and I’m not saying everyone has to agree. It’s not usual for me to slag our players off and my take on Scharner comes partly out of frustration that he has recently being asked to play a role that Gomez was brought into do and he does not/cannot do it. Not his fault, I know, but for me he has to do more playing where he does than get his head on to the end of a cross every now and again.

I suspect he will be off in the summer; be very interesting to see who takes a punt on him and what position he ends up playing

Regarding Scharner :? On the one hand I admire this oddball guy, (usually when he’s playing centre half) On the other hand he makes me feel like tearing my hair out (usually when he’s playing in midfield)

His Highs usually contributes 3 or 4 goals per season already on 4.
A very good defender / header of the ball, wins the headers in midfield too, Strong on the ball can make some useful runs through midfield.

Greatest moments scoring in the Carling Cup semi final 1st league in a 1.0 win over Arsenal.
Finest Hour for me his role in keeping us up in 2006/7 season scoring 1st goal at Sheffield in our 2.1 win

                        His Lows
(For Me) A square peg in a round hole in midfield, disrupts McCarthy and Diame by poor positioning, lacks control on the ball, Awful passing and occasionally being less than supportive to them.
Yearly seems to intimate he will move on to another club, but accepts a pay rise and stays.
