Did today what has been brewing all season. Stoke are rediculously dirty and today this thug could well have ruined a lads short term (maybe but hopefully not long term) Club, International and possibly football career.
He nearly snapped Gomez in half twice when playing against us, and he he looked surprised when this happened, thug – should be banned for a lot longer than he will do.
Hope the boy Ramsey makes a quick recovery and Stoke with all thier thug players and fans have an equally rapid decline.

I would have to agree. Disgusting challenge.
27 February 2010 at 11:13 pm #24604Ramsey’s ankle went under a strong but fair challenge from Shawcross, who had taken a heavy touch and stretched for the ball.
Shawcross appeared to be in tears when he left the field.27 February 2010 at 11:55 pm #24626Stoke are the most cynical team I’ve seen in the Prem. They are summed up by the fact that Pulis nutted his then star striker. Gomez was hammered at least 6 times- by a different player every time ( God knows why they thought that was necessary ). Somehow the media don’t give them the stick they deserve. Even today the focus was on Shawcross being in tears – so what. I suppose it’s a few miles from Stoke to the next club so they feel they shoulde encourage them.
28 February 2010 at 11:09 pm #24763Stoke are a pretty physical side, have to say though I dont think Shawcross did it deliberately, although it was a bad tackle. If it had been Wilkinson, then I wouldn’t have been suprised, he does look like he does set out to deliberately maim opponents.
1 March 2010 at 12:29 am #24784Just watched it and it was a 50/50 ball both of them went into.
Shawcross’s reaction says it all but it is a dreadful accident and i hope the young lad can play again-a fantastic player.1 March 2010 at 12:38 am #24787Hendry Thomas is a worse thug than Shawcross and im surprised that he has not “snapped someone in half” before now.

1 March 2010 at 3:36 pm #24867Knew that was going to be Bouazzuan. Shawcross is over-rated and a dirty crunt. How is that lad going to play for England, nowhere near good enough.

Kirkland?[/quote]
Ha could easily apply to Kirkland too… But no Shawcross. Kirkland should also get nowhere near the Egland team too :D
1 March 2010 at 4:02 pm #24875Sorry about that.By the way your clock is 1hour fast.
1 March 2010 at 5:36 pm #24892Am I the only one not wringing my hands in righteous indignation at Shawcross’s challenge???
For fooks sake, football is a contact sport. That was a 50/50 challenge where he had every chance of getting the ball. Ramsay was a fraction quicker than him & got there first
He didn’t come in both feet off the floor, studs raised etc.. For as long as football has been played players have got injured, broke legs etc.. through challenges, and for Wenger to moan (again) about it when he used to have the likes of Viera in a team with one of the worse sending off records in the top flight is a bit rich.If we’re gonna start banning people attempting to win the ball in those situations then we may as well start watching netball
That said, how Shawcross has got an england call up is anyone’s guess

I only saw the limited shots they showed of this on TV but from what I saw, Ramsey’s leg was at a wierd angle to start off with and although Shawcross was a bit late, it didn’t look a particularly nasty or dangerous challenge.
Shame for the lad, nonetheless.

Ramsay was a fraction quicker than him & got there firstS you think Ramsay deserved to have his leg snapped because he was the quicker player? Just because Ramsay was quicker doesn’t mean Shawcross had the right to snap him… He shouldn’t have gone in like he did unless he was 100% sure he was going to get the ball.
