Very flat performance ,never got going . Two big errors for their goals. No communication between Power and Amos for the first. Watmough ( who I don’t think was fully fit )gave the ball away too easily for the second. Not to worry ,you get these type of games from time to time .It’s how we respond that will show if we are the real deal or not.
29 September 2021 at 7:47 am #194192Best team I have seen so far , physical and hard working like a championship team really.
They will up there this season , bad night for us but stats show we were on top despite the defeat.29 September 2021 at 8:12 am #194193I felt Wyke was back to been isolated and starved up front while McClean was marked out the game. I thought Keane had a v.g. game never panicking on the ball.
Throughout the game we never had the bounce of the ball with numerous corners going in and the second ball bouncing straight to the feet of a Sheff Weds player.
Thier No3 Jaden Brown had a good game closing down at 900 mile an hour but overall, we need to get back to crossing the ball in early and stop the long ball stuff. I think as the season progresses injuries and a week bench will be our undoingJust looked at their second and our pen, both were fouls
29 September 2021 at 9:32 am #194196Your right about Wyke ,when Humphries was warming up I thought he was going to come on for Wyke ,surprised when Keane came off. Just thought we never really got going last night, it could be because the Cheltenham was too easy ( no disrespect) we did not have to get out of second gear in that game ,against Wednesday they were in our faces from the off and we never really got to grips with it. Big test now against Gillingham.
29 September 2021 at 9:50 am #194197We’ll play worse than that this season and win 3-0.
29 September 2021 at 10:32 am #194198I usually sit in the West Stand (buy tickets as and when due to work) but last night sat with a mate in ES3. The behaviour of the pricks in ES2 is shocking. Coming to the end of the game and at the final whistle, empty coca cola bottles where raining down from the top of ES2. They were meant for the linesman during the game and the Wednesday fans at the end of the game but due to the lack of strength in the 15 year old skinny arms and the lightweight of the empty bottles they were landing on the fans at the bottom of ES2. Is this normal from ES2? Also, when they scored their second goal the stewards, fairly roughly ejected a Wednesday fan for jumping into the space between the stand and the pitch. Ive never seen this happen to any Wigan fans on an away match when they are actually on the pitch after celebrating a goal.
Wednesday were a good, big, strong team who looked dangerous every time they broke forward and I agree with a previous poster. They will be there or thereabouts29 September 2021 at 12:23 pm #194199I usually sit in the West Stand (buy tickets as and when due to work) but last night sat with a mate in ES3. As for Wednesday I was not impressed ,two poor sides on the night but it might just give them boost they need .
30 September 2021 at 11:09 am #194204The old saying ‘bad day at the office’. The officials are very poor in this league and I bore myself by banging on about how the refs decisions change games. There were some absolute howling decision on Tuesday and for once I think we got most of them against us… they usually even themselves out.
It looks like we are being targeted by refs for yellow cards too, there have been a few games now where they have been dished out to us, but not to the opposition for similar instances…. I don’t ask for favouritism, I just ask for consistency throughout the game for both teams.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
