My thoughts on how we played last night I personally thought it was a massive improvement. Couple of things stood out as to why we didn’t get something out the game one been Darikwa and Bennett both I think are not good enough.

The one huge difference I instantly noticed is the way we were always trying to get the ball forward trying our best not to play it backwards.
We do lack that killer instinct up front but with Lang and Broadhead combining brilliant I think that’s only a matter of time.
Cousins was outstanding, controlling the midfield. Always wanting the ball and shifting it with pace never standing on it looking up.
One criticism, crossing the ball, it was utter dogsh#t and had we have got balls in I’m sure we would have got a draw

This was a far far better performance than under Richardson far better and with the same crew. We need a decent straight forward left back then move McClean further up.
I just hope the board back him in the Jan window which will inturn mean a few been loaned out.
I’m not sure what Scully has done but it looks like he’ll be the first one sent on loan when the window opens.
But as a whole lots of positives last night against a side who will be there or there abouts

Massive improvement second half after we gave them the second goal . Darwika is making too many mistakes at this level to justify his place in the side.I know he is a crowd favourite but Max Power is not doing enough in midfield and was largely anonymous .Cousins did well when he came on as did Aasgaard ,we were very unlucky not to get something from the game. Lots of positives to build on .It was also great to see Roberto Martinez at the game with Graham Barrow sat next to him.

After watching the game last night I think it’s time for McClean and Power to be benched and Cousins paired with Shinnie in midfield. Callum Lang had a good game and were it not for individual errors proving costly (and some very dodgy refereeing) we could have had at least a point.

Don’t think we can complain too much about the officiating given that Broadhead appears to be offside.

There’s some clear weaknesses in the side/squad. Hopefully Kolo is backed to be able to replace them.

I’d be shocked if the manager didn’t make it clear that funds would be made available to bring in one or two in the January transfer window a straight no nonsense left back would be a priority for me.

Also a centre half will be needed due to injuries and Tilt looking at times abit ropey.

I’ve got to give the manager credit, Kolo wasted no time in bringing off Darikwa after he cost us a goal.like I said, I was super impressed with Cousins when he came on. Moving with the play, always wanting the ball just orchestrating things.
Power although I like his energy seems to get lost in a game and is never brave enough.

You must be joking he didn’t get one decision right including as you say our “offside” goal. The 3 that stick out to me is the superb save made by their outfield player when the ball was deffo going in, the foul on Fletcher when he was about to score at the near post and the trip on Lang when he had left their defender for dead and had a clear run on goal.
He constantly wasted time talking to players pushing, pulling, holding players at corners, only to let them do exactly the same thing 15 seconds later. He was awful.

I would like to point out that Darakwa, Tilt and McLean should be bench players at best.
                  That’s it.
