I’ve only seen the odd bit of Richard Hawley, but isn’t his image in the style of a retro-rock and roller? Doesn’t he play a Gretsch similar to what Eddie Cochran played? I keep meaning to listen to Hawley and see what he’s like, but I keep forgetting.
Regarding Roy Orbison, there is nobody currently anywhere near the charts or music scene that would be fit to lick his boots. The ‘Big O’ from Wink, Texas, was a true one-off.
