Reading some of their forums they are pretty miffed with comments from Wigan fans?? Seem to think their history is better than ours and that we are a little club in a big rugby town??!! No idea what they mean with that comment :)

Got me curious so looked into who had won what & when. I started from 1978 when little Wigan first entered the football league, and noted only major triumphs. Makes interesting reading really as Sheff Utd have won fook all for a long time, a very long time!!

Since Little Wigan joined the football league in 1978, fair to say that Little Wigan have been the more successful club: FACTS below!

Since 1978:

Sheff Utd have spent 5 years in the top flight of English football.
Sheff Utd haven’t won the FA Cup. 1925 was the last time they won it, but were runners up in 1936, which was your best achievement to date!!

On the other hand, Since 1978:

little Wigan have spent 8 years in the top flight of English football
WON the FA Cup in 2013
Runners up in the charity shield 2013
Runners up in the League Cup Final in 2006
Second Division Champions 2003

So fair to say that Little Wigan have the best of the most recent history, not distant history. So distant that no living Sheffield Utd supporter can say they were there when you last won something…..
