In car on way back…..same old ,same old. Absolutely f###### tame in last 3rd. See Fletcher in starting 11 and you know 0-0 is best we can hope for. Wasted another 60 mins till he was hooked. For the 60 mins he’s on the ball goes forward and immediately our defence under pressure. We know Magennis not a world beater but won more ball in 1st 10 mins than Fletcher has in last 5 games. Then to really piss me 1 minute into stoppage we get a free kick on left and instead of putting it on penalty spot Power tries the short play game……..f###### ridiculous!!! Simple ,apart from the donkey lashers we have the poorest squad and boy does it show. Whatmough, Hughes kept us alive and deserve credit but Aasgard really starting to flatter to deceive ……Maloney picks Fletcher so I’m staggered as to why……..but winning games needs goals and he offers none of those!!!
7 April 2023 at 5:54 pm #199242Ps….Maybe lashers do have a better squad???…Our top goalscorer benched for a five goals in 4 years weakling…….Those kind of decisions make staying up a nigh impossible task ….

8 April 2023 at 1:04 am #199244Something must of happened behind the scenes. There is no way on this planet would you ever continue to play Fletcher ahead of Wyke. Maloney said last week that Wyke was left out for “tactical” reasons 🤷♂️
Fletcher is garbage end of.
Aasgaard is definitely poor at the moment. His first thought every time is a 3 yard pass backwards. Where has his maverick spirit gone? The ability and desire to play a ball forward. Not just him though, everyone prefers the safe 3 yard pass backwards rather than trying to run past a player or playing a forward pass or god forbid putting a cross in.
I’m so frustrated travelling home from Sheffield. Frustrated that I think there was an opportunity today but also frustrated that I know Fletcher will lead the line again on Monday. I like Maloney……but what does he see 🤷♂️. Leam never EVER played him. Is this why he was sacked? Because Leam was right not to play him. He is shite
8 April 2023 at 7:03 am #199245We’ve hit 2 goals only twice and not hit 3 in the league. Now gauntlet off time Rotherham, Huddersfield, Cardiff all managed it yesterday. As long as Maloney starts him then there isn’t even the slimmest hope left. It’s not just about his non existent goal scoring prowess it’s the total lack of pressure relief and link up play that he fails to provide. Whether the ball played to his chest, head, feet down the channels or over the top or even in from wide he wins absolutely F### all and we turn over possession. Is there an alterior motive why Maloney starts him? Cos it can’t be football reason. Yes,we’ve tightened up defensively and that has stopped us getting way behind in games(as under Toure) but this powder puff forward stops us snatching wins. I was furious coming out because it was the kind of game where we rode our luck, also some great defending at times but we kept ourselves in the game, only for every venture into the last 3rd to immediately fizzle out. Wyke dropped for tactical reasons???????…..Really??…..This is a different game so I take it same reason applies???….Sorry Shaun you’ve done a good job so far but this is one major ricket you need to address Monday…..and FFS do not even contemplate negotiating Fletcher a contract!!!!
8 April 2023 at 6:22 pm #199247A good job? A good job in slowing down the decline through getting a few draws but the decline hasn’t stopped and his negative tactics and team selections have only dragged us further into trouble. Not his fault? He took the job knowing the situation and was happy to take it. Some of the blame is definitely on his shoulders. I wasn’t a great fan of Leams dross but I think we couldn’t possibly have been in any a worse position if we had stuck with him.
8 April 2023 at 6:58 pm #199248Glad I’m not alone in my opinions!!!
8 April 2023 at 9:01 pm #199249You can count me in as well!
Fuck the EFL
8 April 2023 at 10:52 pm #199251At least there are a few positive posters.
9 April 2023 at 8:56 am #199252Positive?…..Yes there are things to be positive about .As I stated defence is much improved and Maloney done a great job with the tools at his disposal. I for one don’t find being relegated as anything more than another huge negative particularly the financial impact for our club. So the fact that we are still in a position to give survival a go gives all of us hope however small. Then he continues to select Fletcher and immediately you know unless we score 1st and hang on we are done. If we go behind then draw is the best we can hope forward. It’s got to be frustrating for the players seeing the ball coming back continuously with no outlet. Why the hell he continues to select him over our leading goalscorer and even Magennis is unfathomable. Sheffield was an opportunity lost.To keep in the game against a soon to be premiership teams was superb but as long as he stayed on we were never getting back in it. So it down to Maloney…..he picked him….not us “Negatives”.
9 April 2023 at 6:21 pm #199255I think I’d be starting Magennis tomorrow.
