There may be a clash of opinions here.
9 November 2014 at 1:40 pm #135270Personally i thought he was going to be the right man for the job, but things started going sour IMO by around march last season which has continued into this season.
If he is to go, there are only 4 managers who spring to mind:Moyes – but wigan is probably too small for him & he, too big a name for us. But you never know. He needs a job & has managed at lower league level before albeit his first managerial role.
Pulis – wouldn’t be my ideal choice, as his style of football isn’t the best. However in fairness to him he does have a good track record of getting teams promoted & maintaining teams in whatever league he gets promoted to.
Hughton – unfairly sacked by norwich IMO but decent manager at this level.
Coyle – :O
However, i wonder just how much DW now regrets not getting mclaren in the first place.

Yes, Moyes is dithering over a job at Real Sociedad; so big Dave should try his hand and make a cheeky offer. Anyway, how would pale face Moysey cope with all that sunshine; better off in a wet Wigan !

9 November 2014 at 4:30 pm #135276Cannot believe you even discuss Moyes, you’ll be mentioning Sir Alex coming out of retirement next. no chance
I would ask Pulis, which I think he would decline, then for me Malky McKay, who would almost certainly accept, as his stock has been a little tarnished lately.9 November 2014 at 4:35 pm #135277Cannot believe you even discuss Moyes, you’ll be mentioning Sir Alex coming out of retirement next. no chance

Not sure Wigan would want to be the first club to “forgive” Mackay, though. That said, it’s exactly the kind of controversial thing Whelan would do.
Given that there is likely to be no money available (I’m guessing at that) maybe a real dark horse might be Eric Black?
I note there isn’t much support for Horc as yet! Shame that. I was looking forward to his post fucking match twatting interviews ;)

Or in the words of the Moody Blues GO NOW :( :(
10 November 2014 at 12:16 am #135294But he may be asked to ‘…stay just a little bit longer…’
10 November 2014 at 12:29 am #135296Stay but lose the stubbornness of playing the lone striker and drop the rotation nonsense.
