How many remember it? Special train to Gay Meadow. Drawing and then the replay at Springgy. Was it an Albert Jackson header that won it for us?
Mansfield next round to draw again before going out in the replay.
Very special moments following a non league club in the cup.22 November 2015 at 2:09 am #145896I HASSALLPlayer

Yes remember that one! Outplayed Shrewsbury for 80 mins at their place. they scored the winner in injury time with referee Derek Civil(Birmingham) adding on 6 mins stoppage time. In the replay a brutal tackle ended full back legend Billy sutherland’s career with another couple of legends Tommy gore and the late great Albert Jackson scoring the winner. this aggravated Civil and went on to add another 7 mins. referees haven’t change much have they?22 November 2015 at 9:17 pm #145905Zeb2Player

Remember it so well, we went to Shrewsbury taken by my mate’s Dad , four of us there were all sporting Parkas and Latics scarves, Johnny King put us in front with a near post header from a corner.
They equalised at nearly five o clock !
Walking back to the car , the aforementioned Latics scarf earned one of the lads a punch in the face from some passing twenty something scumbag, Tough guy he was , we were all about fourteen , always had a slight downer on Shrewsbury since then, also I noticed that they are still reasonably stocked with knobhead wannabe hard men yesterday (grow up you imbeciles)
Replay saw about 11,500 on at Springy, Tommy Gore with the 25 yard daisy cutter at The Springfield end, Albert Jackson scored at the same end with a kind of acrobatic volley in the 6 yard box in extra time I think?
Great stuff, anyway, we went on to play what was then ‘top of the league Mansfield in front of 15,000+ at Springfield in the next round, snatched a draw thanks to an own goal but got done 3-1 in the replay.
Dont see those types of crowds now for FA Cup ties even when we were Premier League. Things change and not always for the better…..23 November 2015 at 1:27 am #145909Chris hollinsheadPlayer

Great user name to commemorate your first match.
Remember walking back up to the station with knobs from Shrewesbury baying at us behind the safety of a security fence. It was more our dads cursing and spitting back at them than us teenage lads.
Brilliant night when we beat them in the replay at Springfield.24 November 2015 at 3:23 pm #145920StandishWalkerPlayer

Anyone remember that 7-0 thumping we gave Fylde at home when Horace Thomas and Duncan Colquhoun got five of the goals between them?
I was back on leave from the International Division where we’d been holding Franco’s lot just outside Malaga.
Cracking day.24 November 2015 at 4:24 pm #145921Terry HillPlayer

Sure it was Heskin we did 8-1 that day and not Fylde or Kirkham and Wesham as they were known in them days, before taking on Charnock Richard in the next round. The final against Coppull Celtic was superb!
