During a recent thread, it came to light that we have split opinions on a past striker who; even though he scored many goals was still slated by some fans and also was more noteably remembered for his antics when leaving our club.
SO!!!
Do you remember Simon Haworth for his sublime goals or for his acrimonious departure?
22 February 2011 at 12:45 am #60203i am torn with this one 50/50 the goal he scored at wembley was a cracker. Then again when you saw him lashed up on a saturday neat in kudos with a certain mr carrol
22 February 2011 at 12:51 am #60205Loved him as a player but was disappointed in they way he left.
Funny as f00k when he was sent off at Tranmere
22 February 2011 at 12:59 am #60208Wasn’t funny as fook for me, I broke my finger at that game…. stopping the ball hitting you in the head :confusion-seeingstars:

22 February 2011 at 11:54 am #60218Very talented player and a scorer of great goals but frustrating in the extreme. Very lazy, and seemed to not make the best of his talents. That’s why I didn’t like him very much.
Neither hero nor villian for me – how grey is that?

About as grey as your hair if you had any !!
23 February 2011 at 10:32 am #60278Di Santo is like Haworth, except Haworth had skill. And scored a few goals. And was at times exciting to watch.
Actually, the only similarity was that they are tall.

Actually, on the odd occasion when I don’t shave for any prolonged period of time, I have noticed recently that what few follicles I do have are very decidedly grey. Beard as well, not that I’ve ever been able to grown one of them.If I let it all hang out, so to speak, I’d look like a thin Kenny Rogers
23 February 2011 at 10:14 pm #60311Loved his goal against Gillingham at Wembley 2000 would love some footage of this but couldn’t even get any off Youtube. The goal would be worthy of any Prem player and we were in the 3rd tier back then.
Also remember a last gasp goal against Bristol Rovers when we first moved into the JJB in 1999 which won the match for us.
