We replaced southport in the league coming up 40 years ago, the link above is a current story on the bbc about southport. It is a great little read, but compare and contrast that to where we are, the support and investment we have had and what could have happened if we weren’t elected and they supported by Whelan.
I remember the day when we were elected, I was a kid and we put the scarves out of the windows for when my dad got home, he was bipping his car horn and was so excited.
Interesting points dnr. I was too young to remember our election to the league, but i did make my bow at our very first game in the league in the 78 season.
