…Of the boys yesterday, gave 110% and deserved something out the game. You cannot ask for any more. Once again their two scorers cost more than our entire team yet we stood toe to toe with them. First goal looked off side and the second was a jammy rebound off the post that could have gone anywhere. Things are just not happening for us, but keep playing with that grit and determination will see us go close to getting out the bottom 3. It’s a tough ask but achievable. Keep with young Colclough for the remaining 7 games, he is too good to leave out in my opinion. Showed some great touches when he came on and looked head and shoulders above Bogle.

      What a journey!

That performance surprised me JR, better than expected.
Thought Connolly switched off for their first goal, poor defending!
We came out in the second half and had a spell of play that Newcastle struggled to cope with. Three great chances, Scored one, missed two, story of our season so far..
Draw would have been a fair result for me.

BTW, Jacobs goal was taken superbly. Not a lover of him but credit where it’s due.

It was poor defending for the first goal.
However the player at fault was MacDonald who let Diame run past him and get his cross in for Gayle to score. Maybe he was carrying an injury but he was well off the pace and got caught out numerous times. No surprise when he was subbed.

Can’t fault the players for effort and they were undone by a fluky winner but it’s been evident all season we are lacking quality, especially up front.

That level of performance needs to be taken into every game and if it is then we have a chance.

Play like that against Ipswich and take our chances we will win the game.
Take that win into Saturday win again and things will get interesting. Yes were relying on other teams dropping points now but our next two games are realistically winnable so fingers crossed get behind the team and put the pressure on those above us.

Realistically we need to win the next 3 to give us a real chance. Victory at Ipswich sets that chance up so everything crossed for tomorrow and lets hope luck is with us for a change. C,Mon Wigan.YAMS.
