Never a dull season, and always some little bit of history being written. Even the league results haven’t dampened my mood and today truly has been a welcome break.
Well done to Bob for putting out a strong side and the diversion tactics ahead of the game making everyone think we’d go into the game under strength.
Well done to the lads for a superb, spirited performance, great goals, clean sheet and keeping going in the 2nd half and not making it nervous for the fans! Toffees chewed up and spat out!
Well done to the brilliant support – let’s hope we take 10 times that to Wemberlee…tho I couldn’t care less what happens on the day. It’ll be on my birthday weekend and hopefully be my 5 year old daughter’s first ever Latics game!
And finally, no matter what you may think of him, it’d be a cold heart that isn’t pleased for Dave Whelan tonight.
“Everton suffered their first-ever defeat to Wigan Athletic at Goodison Park, this after winning five and drawing two of their previous seven meetings with the Latics there”.
Must have dreamed the other win too!
Just watching the highlights. What a pass from Phil Neville. Gomezesque. Sign him up.

I would like to echo the thread I am So proud of this Little club tonight goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost
Well said galac, spot on, so proud of the lads today, just hope they can replicate that performance in the final games of our season and in the semi at Wembley.
Today was a real throwback to the good old days of being a Latics fan. When nobody gave us a chance and we then went and stunned the football world with a breathtaking performance. The whole team today were sensational and it really brought back home to me what being a Wigan fan has always been about. The bigger diversity we face the more this incredible club thrives.40 yrs ago Wigan Athletic lost to Scarborough 2-1 in extra time in the F A Trophy final at Wembley and as a youngster I was heartbroken. They have more than made it up to me since and out of the 40 odd years ive been a fan I can honestly say that not that many times have they let us the fans down.We may be struggling and we may go down but for what this wonderful club has given me in all those years means that I would have to be a complete and utter moron to start bellyaching and slagging them off.Today we went back to being the old Wigan Athletic and boy do I feel good tonight.Like galac has said so proud of the lads today.
I echo the sentiments of both nuneaton & galatic. Absolutely brilliant day & yes, just like the olden days of watching wigan. I remember as a kid back in 1987 being absolutely heartbroken losing to leeds. This was such a special day. Well done wigan.

Well put Ste !
Ah the FA Trophy Final – I was a youngster too. Cried with joy when my hero Johnny Rogers got the equaliser. But we were still being cheated then; we were denied a clear penalty when Mickey Worwick ( I think ) beat the monstrous fat Bert Garrow in nets, only for his shot to be saved on the line by their winger ( Dick somebody or other ) who dived and stopped a certain goal with his hand. Still got the picture from behind the nets in my scrapbook in the attic. Those were the days. PS how many times have the Latics appeared at Wembley ?
