Once Wyke comes back we’ll have five possible 7 forwards at the club:

      Wyke
      Magennis
      Broadhead
      Humphrys
      Fletcher
And other options as with Keane and Lang been able to fill that role.

I’ve a feeling Humphrys might be the one to pay the price.Saturday’s game basically said I don’t prefer you when he bought Broadhead on instead.

If it is Humphrys it’s a shame as he’s one of a few at the club who’ve never been given a fair crack of the whip even when there’s been injuries. If there’s one thing he doesn’t lack in is 100% effort and commitment

Strange situation having so many forwards competing for 2 or 3 spots. Humphries would be the obvious choice to miss out as he missed out much of last season in L1. Broadhead can play the Keane/Lang role if you can keep him out of the treatment room. Wyke/Magennis/Fletcher are of the same stature so will probably be in contention for one spot, although nobody knows when or whether Wyke will play again.

I know what happened to Wyke was awful and it’s good to see him back in training but is this niggling injury situation gonna keep raising it’s ugly head ?.

To be out for so long with little or no training then to be thrown into competitive games and let’s face it, he’s not getting any younger means only one thing.

I personally would like to see him back and in full flight but looking at the number of forwards at the club it looks to me that the club are preparing for him to be missing more games than he starts.

Shame but the fact of the matter is, I don’t we’ll ever see him back fully fit and raring to go. His career will be a stop start till it ends

Really hope he doesn’t read that post. An opinion I agree, but one made without any knowledge of his current medical condition.
The last information we got was he picked up a foot injury at Accrington that meant he missed 2-3 weeks of training. He’s now back in full training according to LR which is good news.
Don’t write the lad off just yet, I hope he will play a big part in our quest to stay in this division this season.

And after his impressive appearance off the bench today, maybe cup winners has written him off a little too soon???
