If you and your ilk are right – which you’re not – that Whelan is simply creaming money out of the club then I bet he’s having a right good laugh at you tonight.

If Whelan didn’t buy these players and pay their wages and run the club, where do you think the money comes from.
Of course he’s running it as a business, but that’s as much for our good as his. Hopefully, he dies with the club owing his surviving family no money and we still have a viable football club. That’s the aim, I think. And in the meantime, we’ve had a good few years punching above our weight in the top flight.
