If ever there was one brief overheard conversation that summed up some of our supporters….
At full time, West Stand toilets, 2 men aged 50+:
A: ‘Alright lad? That was a cracking game weren’t it?’
B: ‘Yeah, but did you go on Satd’y? F’cking awful. Should be ashamed of themselves…’ blah blah blah
(Nothing to moan about with the game you’ve just watched? No problem. Simply skip back to the last poor performance and let rip)
11 November 2015 at 9:50 am #145737It’s all true though and worthy of a mention I reckon.
The team last night was made up of largely second string players and they were bloody magnificent !
Kellet surely must start on Saturday11 November 2015 at 1:28 pm #145740It’s all true though and worthy of a mention I reckon.

11 November 2015 at 1:36 pm #145742We have always had numpty supporters & moreso since we graced the premier league. However, i can recall a supporter after our very 1st home game this season which ended in a disappointing & boring (TBF) 0 – 0 draw. At the end one bloke behind me shouted “Absoulte sh1te – p155 off now caldwell you useless twohat”
I haven’t seen him since that opening day.11 November 2015 at 2:27 pm #145743Football provides a release for many people; a safety valve if you like where they can vent their seemingly irrational anger and frustrations. For the most part the abuse and vitriol they spout is not really meant. If you were to hear them an hour or so later they would most likely have a less aggressive attitude. And if it stops them going home hurling abuse at the wife and kids or kicking the dog then I suppose it could be viewed as a good thing.

Touched a nerve then did it?
11 November 2015 at 4:07 pm #145746I think you hit the nail on the head when you said ‘West Stand’.
Takes a certain sort to sit in there doesn’t it? First moan I heard was from one elderly gent, of which there were many, that all those that normally sat behind him couldn’t be bothered turning up. They may have switched stands like I did, I certainly would have if I’d bought a season ticket behind him!
Only benefit of being in there was the little un was made up with a thumbs up from McCann and Boycey.

We can all remember our own Dads shouting and bawling at the match and having hissy fits in the car back home and then back home it was normal service resumed and normal boundaries in the house you wouldn’t cross.

It’s a bit like people ranting and raving all the way to Wigan after they have read the team news and declaring The Manager is a f***ing idiot for making 10 changes and hasn’t got clue etc etc. And contining the rant when Davies is replaced by Wildshutt. It’s soon forgotten though when it’s 4-0, isn’t lad and Wildshut has banged one in, we can all then relax for a few days until the next half baked decision is made.

Nay, thrice nay !
Don’t know anbody like that; do you !11 November 2015 at 10:17 pm #145754It certainly is and that’s just what I was thinking Butler La but at the end of the day that young family with the poorly child are what is important and football opinions, agreements, disagreements etc just fade into total insignificance compared to the utter hell and anxiety that those people must be and must have been experiencing and I give thanks every day that none of us are having to go through that experience.
Football does matter but football is just a little distraction away from the priority of what really matters and yip it is one brilliant thing to get many of our petty frustrations out of our system and then go back away out of the football bubble to the things that really matter like friends, family and living.11 November 2015 at 10:23 pm #145755And Lostock and Horc have never ever had a rant. Not even last season or under Martinez. Ha ha.
