As ive said in other posts we were crap today. However, lets move on & forget it.

Yeah and lets say that after the next game and the one after and so on till its the last game of the season
No, you’re right. We need to stamp our feet and hit ourselves over the head with a heavy object before coming onto this forum and posting our frustrations.
Why do i need stamp my feet and hit myself before posting.Yesterday they where shocking,1st half against sunderland and stoke same, the majority of people i spoke to after the game all said they where sick of it.Like i have said in a previous post if we were bottom of league 2 would you honestly put up with watching it and not voice your anger

Like I have said many times I prefer a strung out pattern to a bulk.

Maybe that says something about the people you speak to.

Or did they just nod as you had a little rant and say “Er – yeah – well…” while backing away slowly? ;)

What so they are all wrong aswell.I have supported this team all my life garswood, i dont have a 2nd team its wigan ath all the way, i am not a piss head that goes out on the pop every week, i dont smoke,i even sent my wife and kids on holiday and got a later flight which didnt go down well,so i didnt miss the game (latics v barnsley 1-0 tony dinning)i work hard for my money and i choose to spend it on my team, i dont want a medal, so am i wrong for wanting my team to be doing better, and i cant see it getting any better under bobby. But never mind i am sure at the end of season bash when everybodys had a few beers he will have us cheering when he says again next season we will push for europe………………………………………………………………or will it be we will be streight back up from the championship ;)

If I accept the premise that the people you speak to are right, then I have to accept that the majority of people I speak to are wrong.

        We’ll agree to disagree :)

And in no way was I doubting your credentials, and am sure that, like everyone on here we want our team to do well.

For me Europe or Championship title are both possibilities. I’m not going to lose any sleep about which one it will be. I can do nothing to influence it. Quite a few people here ought to mug up on Circles of Influence.

The many hundreds who walked out after Southamptons second gaol spoke volumes. There were also a lot of people who i heard walking to the bridge slagging that performance off, and rightly so.

Biggest failure for this match was Bob for me. 5 – 4 – 1 formation & Poor substitutions… A style of play that resembles his character, nice en soft.. Until he changes his approach (which will be in about 3 games time) we won’t be any good cos he is tactically poor & overly cautious.

Yes Nuneaton we did have the offer accepted, but only after 2 previous bids fail, both of which (rumour based) were 1/2 mill short each time. We all know and accept we cant and do not want to splash the cash everytime, but c’mon, even the most hardcore of Whelan lovers must admit defeat in that respect. Does RM storm into DW’s office demanding he match the valuation and quick as to not miss out to the likes of Everton and co? If not, he should be IMO.

But no matter, Everton matched the price and the lad chose to go there instead. Which part of this are you struggling with?

I think you may have missed my point BAH,Bobby could kick the office door down and Mr Whelan could give him the money but it wont change things. Lets use Stones as the example, a club who is in a relegation position and who have been there every season comes in for you.Your club agrees terms so you are free to go.There is still time however for you to get a better offer elsewhere if you wait.At the last minute a club who is pushing for a champions league place comes in for you.Where do you go? Thats the problem with the window, Stones knew he was joining a Premier league club regardless so it was well worth his while to hold out would,nt you?.

And we know what wages were being offered?

It may be the same transfer fee, but if he was being offered wages that are outside what we were willing to pay then there’s nothing we can do about it.

Bottom line though – is that if I were a footballer and had the choice of going to Wigan or to Everton I’m afraid I know which I’d choose.

I am not struggling with any part Griff. I’m not even struggling to understand why Stones chose Everton, wages could of been a factor but we all knew Everton would pip us to it given a choice. The point I am struggling with is why we are pricking around over transfer fee’s when what is actually being asked for is not a ridiculous amount in the first place. That’s what I struggle with. I know no-one on here is a mind reader before anyone says it, but would Everton have put a bid in if we had just matched the value first time? Or even second time?

Yes, if they wanted the lad, of course they would.

And again, you have no idea how the negotations were conducted anyway.

At no point have I said I did know how the negotations were conducted, in more or less every post I’ve made so far I’ve always said my statements are based on rumour.

Well I heard Whelan was prepared to offer him four times the salary Everton were willing to pay but he chose Everton anyway…..!

So if you have no idea how it went, why would you say something like:

The point I am struggling with is why we are pricking around over transfer fee’s when what is actually being asked for is not a ridiculous amount in the first place.

How do you know we were “pricking around over transfer fees”?
