15 May 2013 at 2:57 pm #113498AnonymousOh dear – someone’s hurting this morning!
On the bright side, the CCC is very northern-dominated, so you and the other 19500 who couldnt be arsed to go last night might get out of your armchairs and go and cheer your side on.
Fair play to those who were in the visitors end last night in fancy dress – as Arsenal fans.
See Ya!
I hope your dog gets run over[/quote]
While you are cuddling it.
15 May 2013 at 7:24 pm #113525I’d say you were the one hurting as a result of seeing there weren’t the swathes of empty seats at Wembley that you’d hoped for.Only thanks to Man City managing to shift tickets for the lower tier from the corner flag to the halfway line, which were supposed to be for Wigan fans.

Wigan sold twenty-odd thousand tickets. Or, to put that another way, a quarter of the town went to the game; every fourth man woman or child from Wigan was at Wembley; the equivalent of three quarters of the 25 – 44 age group of Wigan were at Wembley. But, no, that’s not enough eh? Although, earlier on this thread you’ve poked fun at the 10,000 additional fans who showed up for the Final.
Make your mind up Mutty. Should we be filling the seats or not filling them?
We won the FA Cup. It’s something Wigan RL can never do and something Sunderland haven’t done since 1973.
But I suppose that’s null and void if you don’t have at least 25,000 there.

Yes, the spare seats in those areas were sold by City, but I think that the majority of those were originally corporate/sponsors areas that were never going to be part of Wigans allocation.
Our original allocation was up to the corner flag in the bottom tier and a few sections past the scoreboard on the top tier (21,000 in total).
The fact that we sold all those bar a few, and the rest of the top tier up to the half way line (4-6,000 more) is an astounding achievement.
The official figure will never be fully known, but to see on the day, the amount of people in Latics colours all over Wembley and across the whole of London was heart warming.
A truly remarkable day, and the biggest occasion and acievement the sporting town of Wigan has ever or will ever see.Wigan Athletic Football Club

It was a truly momentous day Phil, capped off nicely by bumping into you and your kid after.
I’ll work on Alistair for a few more visits to the Brick next season now we are no longer in the prawn butty league.
One more good thing about winning the FA Cup is two people I know who came to Wembley twice as casuals have hinted loudly about getting season tickets next year.
