What were the Wigan results against Bolton during the reign of these managers. I certainly remember getting tonked at the Reebok over Christmas 2011. Can anyone recall the positives that Roberto took from that game ? Was he proud of the performance; did we “grow into” the game ( by the 89th minute ).

To answer your question; Wigan only beat Bolton once in 8 encounters whilst RM & OC were in charge. That would be our last game at the Reebok, which I seem to remember we were hanging on for most of the second half.
I definitely think we have signed a good Manager who will balance the positives with criticism when appropriate; rather than searching for the slightest positive all of the time. Loved Roberto but I think he swallowed the Corporate Book of Speak and tried to apply it to football far too often.

True, but having someone ‘geeing’ up the team from the sidelines can only be positive. Mr Ferguson could probably tell you that.

Martinez encouraged his players throughout games: thumbs up, claps, nods, gestures etc.

What’s the point of balling and screaming when in a full stadium, only the players within a five yard radius can hear what the manager is shouting?[/quote]

Full stadium? I can only recall one real sell out and that was our first game in the Premiership under Jewell. I’m sure Coyle will be heard now though, as enough ‘dark siders’ wont be attending the Championship games now he’s in charge, so I am led to believe anyway. That should keep attendances down.

Roberto’s ‘Marcel Marceau’ impersonations and his incessant finger puppetry hardly inspired us last season SW. 4 home wins?

At least Coyle shows some touchline passion unlike Rob and his finger puppetry .

I thought Bobby was quite studious on the touchline, his brain analysing the game like a computer.

Trouble is most of the time he was operating on MS DOS and the opposition were operating on Windows 8 !! ;)

He obviously upgraded to 8 for the FA Cup Final. :)
