3-1 win 12 months ago and i feared for our future in the premiership
real zaragoza 12 months on and a 3-1 lossand after tonight i have very positive feelings for this new season provided we keep the players what we have and add a couple more.
oh and get rid of the deadwood that is left (gomez)
5 August 2010 at 2:13 am #41682Yeah, I agree, I think this is one of the best Latics sides in a long time.
5 August 2010 at 3:14 am #41689Now forgive me here, and i know its only a friendly and all that, but we were put in our place tonight. (by a very good team i do admit)
Time and time again we try too much and we are just not capable of it.
On a plus note, Alcaraz, Stam and Boselli look decent.
Still frightened of the team defensively. Easily exposed on a number of occasions.
5 August 2010 at 10:50 am #41694you lot must have been to another game played a team 2 weeks behind us in preseason training one forward up front same tactics as last season long hard season again
5 August 2010 at 6:30 pm #41738Plenty of possession but a distinct lack of a killer instinct in the final midfield 3rd and upfront, same as last year if you ask me. Still its only a friendly so plenty time to sort it out, I wont hold my breath though.

5 August 2010 at 10:51 pm #41745i know the seasons not started yet, but
i went last night and although i thought we were allright untill the substitutions, which i accept we have to make, so as to see what others are like. (I think we should keep both the left back and centre half that came on to bolster the squad).
I worry that cos of how we play, and the quality of our players, that we will not score more than one goal very often, and although i think that our defence is probably better than last season, we will still concede quite a lot of goals goals.i know we are nowhere as good as spain, but we try to play in a similar way, and didn’t they win all there games in the knockout stages only 1 nil, they can do this because they have a quality defence, and unfortunatly we dont.
i fear our lack of goals might be our downfall this season, not because of the players but the way we try to play
i hope i’m wrong.
also i have not gone over to the dark side.i’m really still fairly optimistic -
