Well that was dire.
Tactics are tire, selections and subs are dire.
The passing around our own area and getting ourselves into a mess, is dire.
At any other club, the pressure would be on Maloney, but he’s not getting it here as we haven’t even got a board organised. Truly it’s a right mess.
It will be an even bigger mess come midnight on 31st January when the window closes, if we’ve sold Tickle and Hughes.
We’ve just had two lucky wins, bloody lucky wins, if we are being honest. Today we were outfought. Yes, the ref was abysmal, but so was a lot of our play. How the hell does Magennis start? We’ve nothing of a threat, striker wise. Two useless donkeys and Humphreys and Jones who are world-beaters, in their own minds.
Maloney might be a nice guy, but his tactics and football is awful. Really awful. No real plan A, never mind a plan B. Not the long term option for this club. I think we are really woeful.I feel your anger and I agree with alot of what you said but I think Stevenage were a well drilled decent outfit with fire power.
Right now we’re readable. Managers are coming here with a high press knowing we’ll eventually f**k up.The short corners has now manifested into short free kicks with the same result, f**k all.
I’m not one for blaming refs be he was embarrassingly bad today. The level of refereeing in this League is awful.
But our biggest issue isWe do not have a forward, we have no threat up front we have a powder puff attacking forward line.
It’s ok saying Magennis is good for the young lads but at the end of the day he’s paid to play football and score goals not chaperone a load of kids like a reception teacher.Humphrys Wyke and Magennis, our 3 forwards have scored exactly 19 goals in 73 appearances between them which is abysmal.
If we hadn’t have been through 2 lots of admin and a transfer embargo I’d be screaming from the roof tops but reality sets in and tbh I always thought staying in the division is No1 priority but Maloney doesn’t help himself. This playing out from the back regardless is dangerous and at times darn stupid.
I personally feel that if we had one hungry forward, someone that our players can focus on the play offs wouldn’t be beyond us but without this

Lang would have fought till he dropped more than i can say for Aasgard,Humphreys,Magennis, Wyke…Forget all this “lucky to have a club ” shit……we won’t get out this league with Maloneys bore fest, 0 efforts on goal tosh whatever players we have. We need steel,urgency a bit more directness and desire…….hope he sat down with Evans and listened intently….

Maloney has been in charge for around 12 months now brought his own players in but we are no further forward now than at the beginning of his tenure.
Whether we stay up or not is he going to be trusted with a transfer kitty next season?
I think for the good of the club he should go now!

2. A manager who is not some radical appontment, like Kolo The Clown was.

This century our better managers have been ex players for us ie Jewell, Martinez, Caldwell (he did win L1), Cook, Richardson being the exception
Aasgaards name was mentioned, I thought he was very poor today then he pops up with a goal. But the thing is, he has to do more in the other 89 minutes otherwise today happens again.
And why the f**k did Smith come off?? I thought him and Jones were our best 2 from a bad bunch.
My biggest gripe was sending Stones out on loan when were struggling for goals. We’d have lost nothing giving him 10-15minutes here. He then starts scoring and gets crocked.
Now we’ve lost the lad for God knows how long an absolute master stroke by Maloney.
I’ll then point back to Maloney’s remark about Magennis and how he offers so much behind the scenes and there’s me thinking he’s a forward and he’s here to score how wrong I was.
For me Maloney’s already instilled in the players it’s all about possession so if you go forward and in doubt go back or sideways.
We are junk at going forward. We do not possess players with pace who can play off a defenders shoulder not a one.
Humphrys? Again he thinks he can take a team in solo and always gets it took off him.I’m sorry but there’s 6-7 players who I hope are not retained because they are not good enough. If we go with Magennis up front next season cause he’s good for the changing room we are well and truly dry bummed next season
Should have gone in at half time 3-1 up because that looked a goal.
Deserved at least a point today in my view.Let’s not forget, they were a well organised side and one of the better sides in the league with plenty of attacking options, something we certainly don’t have
There are ways and means to beat a team of big cloggers you run the fuckers ragged for as long as possible.
We did that for 6 minutes and look what happened 1-0 then I knew what we would do sit back and start fannying about, we did just that. What happened 1-1 we then went 2-1 up and we know what happened next. rinse and repeat, we should have kept going at them instead of sitting back and inviting them on.
Maloney makes my fuckin’ blood boil!
