thinkin about it, looked like 3 good signings at first, then when i weighed it up, they’ve paid 12m for crouch who was forced to sign for them, as he was told if he didnt he wouldnt be in their 25 man squad thus meaning he would be in their reserves all season, ..is that good for stoke?
cameron jerome…scored 3 goals in a relegated team, 4m.
wilson palacios..8m on a 4yr deal, could be a hit or miss, dosent really score goals, but can be good on his day…reserve judgement on that one..
so theyve paid 24m for 3 players who scored 7 league goals between them last year, 1 dosent really wanna be there, 1 is a good championship player, and another was sat on spurs bench most of last year.
i just dont think its as good a business as it first looked.
Think Crouch will have point to prove and will want to be at the Euros next summer. He’ll be happy if he’s playing regularly. Also not a bad target for those long throws.
Jerome I don’t know much about, but as you said, he was in a relegated team, so hard to judge.
Palacious was great for us. Maybe a move back up to the north west will help him too.
a spurs fan at work said palacious was great for them at first but his form dipped once they found out his brother had been murdered makes sense to be honest some things are more important than football
Cameron jerome i can’t understand – has never really scored bagfulls for Brum & never impressed me when I’ve seen him play. Can’t understand him wanting to go there either as with Jones, Crouch, Walters & Fuller their other strikers, I think he’ll struggle to get a game
Peter Crouch – will be a good signing for them. I don’t rate him in the slightest but he does seem to know where the net is. Don’t think he’ll be much of a weapon on their long throws coz for a bloke who is 8ft 6″ his ability to win the ball in the air (without clambering all over his opponent & using them as leverage) is woeful
Wilson Palacios – was a great player for us & a Spurs mate of mine was always raving about him whenever I spoke to him. Seems to have completely dropped off the radar recently though & will be interesting to see if this slump is permanent

finished in my book when he screamed like a child having a nightmare to get cattermole sent offlaughed my head off when that kid slapped him at the end of the game last season,wish it could have been me.
