22 February 2010 at 4:08 pm #23747Yesterdays result was more to do with it being the worst refereeing display of the season. Such blatant cheating (again) by the ref is what cost us.
We were matching Spurs all the way, and looking like we were up for the battle.
I think Martinez should stay at least until 10 games into next season. There is no point sacking him, afterall most on here seem to want us relegated anyway and are only happy when they’re moaning like f*uck.
Get a grip and get behind your team.
Those who booed after the final whistle are a disgrace, we don’t need nor want fans like that.22 February 2010 at 4:13 pm #23749Horc, your not telling me that you are buying the theory that they should have been down to 10 men? Not being funny, but that would mean that nearly every game every week, would end up the same. That Defoe ‘slide in’ on Caldwell was sod all. Worst thing about the officials, was that first goal. Blatantly offside. But since when did we get refereeing decisions agaisnt the big clubs? Are we getting that desperate now where we are looking for excuses. They’d still have beaten us yesterday, even without that first goal. For a start, we can’t score, nay, can’t have a shot on goal for toffee, whilst we always look vunerable to a team when they raise their game on about 60 mins. It’s been the same all season. The question was asked yesterday, “are our players fit enough?” Because they always tire after an hour.

Listen, I don’t want him to get sacked. I’d prefer him to go himself, and keep some degree of dignity, rather than Father Jack kicking him out.
I’ve given him loads of chances in my mind to change things, but it’s been the same old, same old, game after game. Mention of “Positives” and “Solutions”, but yet, no, there have been none. Him mentioning the pitch after yesterdays game, shows he is feeling the pressure. It was a poor excuse, as Spurs could easily have had 4 or 5, and played some good passing football. I think he’s feeling the heat. He has suggested there has been improvement throughout the season, but yet I can’t see it?
I actually feel sorry for Roberto. He’s come into a club with a mish-mash of a squad, players happy to sit on their backsides, as long as they get paid. Where as, at Swansea, they had something to aim for (promotion), we have nothing other than ‘damage limitation’, season after season. Perhaps he took over a ‘poisoned chalice’.

That said i think it would be a good idea to replace Jones with an experienced PL manager , think Curbishly would take a number 2 role?

Yeah…………………
At United. Not at Wigan Athletic. Whether you like it or not, our manager is shyte. No good getting some high profile fella in as an assistant, as that would just be an embarrassment.

Wrong , his ideas are good , he needs someone to guide him as to how to get the best out of his players and to mould him into adapting his formations to suit games , remember he has never managed at this level before.
Being a bit naive doesnt make him shyte .
But then again sweeping statements are all the rage to some people.

He has one idea, one formation, and will certainly NOT adapt his formations to suit games. Or have you not realised that yet?
“Bit Naive”. Aye, just a bit.
Bramble injured, so instead of a straight swap with Boyce, he moved Scharner back and brought Thomas back in. I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but Thomas is god awful. No, really, he is. (Cue the defenders)
So because of one necessary change, he made 2. That beggars belief, really.22 February 2010 at 7:05 pm #23807GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……….

22 February 2010 at 11:04 pm #23865Stay! Regardless of what happens this season. We wont go down, I will have high amounts of money on that. Martinez can be the man who takes us forward. Embarrased to say that I agree with Griff that Thomas is awful, but so is Boyce and you do not want Boyce in a side vs Defoe, therefore Scharner was the right choice.
