Great stuff by the club…it’s the only way of getting people in. People are feeling the pinch, just hope these adverts are not just consigned to the website but plastered up all over Wigan and surrounding areas…..I might stick one up at work!!

It won’t be in the Evening Post, if last week was anything to go by. There was an advert for a f**king Bolton match in there instead!
Well done by the club, anything to try and get people in has to be a good thing cause our crowds are embarassing.
Although I believe the club/chairman are really missing the point. People want to go to the match and be entertained but most importantly see them win. We do neither and Imo until this changes Mr Whelan could let them in for free and we still wont fill the ground.
dont think its the selling, its the way its done, the lies that come out from the owd person
only sell to a top four club and no less than 12 mill
but point i was making we will lose more fans now

To be honest Bicky, we can all easily tell when Whelan’s lying – his mouth’s moving.
Yet you seem to be the only one who believes what he says and then gets upset when he – entirely predictably – does something different.
I don’t know why people have a problem with DW selling players for less than what he has said he values the player at. It’s just the way the transfer business is carried out these days. Previously in the days of the arbitration panel the selling club would ask for X million, the buying club would offer Y million. The panel usually just split the difference.
DW, knowing Charlie wants to go, wants to get the best price he can. He probably valued him at 10 million but publicly declares he wants 12. Birmingham probably valued him at 10 but offered 8 guessing that we accept 10. Both clubs are looking to save face by having made the other change their respective positions. It is, however, all an illusion.
