Before I start I am not having ago at the people who run the supporters club I think they are doing a thankless task with no support from the football club.
I just think that we should try and rally around and get into the clubs face about the fact that since we moved to the new stadium we have been really let down by the club.
My lasting memories of Springfield very often included nights in the S C having banter and arguments about the games and the goings on at our club.
I believe our S C committee have tried everything to get a premises where they can run the coaches and the fans can have a drink before the games.
The bar we have now is ok but is only available if no one else is using it.
I believe our beloved owner was going to let us use the room under the east stand but wanted to have full control of everything. ie coaches ,bar etc.I hate to say it but my friends and I are looking for somewhere else to go prematch to sit and talk and meet.
If you talk to the away support they love coming to Wigan they are given the marquee to have a prematch drink and think we have the best facility’s for away fans in the country.
I wonder what would happen if we got relegated, there would be a choice of rooms to be had me thinks.
Would there be anyone left to use them I don’t know.I just hope that someone with more influence and say than me can put our case forward and I for one would back any venture to get our S C up and running again as it used to be.
After all where would our club be without the Supporters ?
Yet again thank you to The S C Committee for all your efforts I think I would have given up by now.

To try and clear things up here, even though it is not clear…
The sticking point over the East Stand was never that Mr. Whelan wanted control over the Coaches and Bar, if anything the exact opposite is the case.
The East Stand Bar proposal was reliant on several factors, of which the Supporters Club and Junior Stripes had no control of. Planning permission, building work and sponsorship of the Bar to pay for the building work are just some.
I personally would love us to have the South Stand back again, but at the moment it isn’t a goer. If there is a business out there that would be prepared to subsidise the building work, the plans for the East could maybe be resurrected again.
Make no bones though, every meeting we have with the club, we remind them that a statement was made that we would have somewhere for the Club to exist IN the new Stadium…..

To be fair guys we will never re-create the old S C it was a special place and had a unique atmosphere. We really do need a proper club though. On the subject of the old club, where can i get the old s c badge from?. I have lost mine and desperately want to replace it.
I suspect a supports club would fail because they would sell pints at the same price as the stadium, well thats my guess anyway. !
