Last year we won 13 and had 52 points All season, with 7 to play this term we are on 47 with 12 wins
The league feels a bit tighter this time but it is looking like we will beat last seasons points and wins.
Looks like progression and at the moment it feels like progress which is a very different feeling than a few months ago when a lot (including myself) were calling for Cook to go.
I hope my piece of humble pie at the end of the season is enormous and tasty.28 June 2020 at 7:47 pm #187331The club could have sacked Paul Cook last season but for whatever reason stuck with him and it looks like the decision is paying off at last. I can’t recall any club with a high turnover of managers doing well at any level.

After we beat Huddersfield I thought 50 points would do us, now we probably need 52-53 to be safe.
Last season Ipswich and Bolton were cast adrift and Rotherham collapsed at the end; this season 22nd place is up for grabs
I think we will finish 14th
29 June 2020 at 6:41 am #1873337 points better off than last season at same stage and some remarkable results.
A big game tomorrow and victory in that will all but settle the fears of relegation.
I have a feeling we will get the points tomorrow night before the likely defeat at Brentford ( best team I have seen this season)on Saturday.29 June 2020 at 9:35 am #187334I still think 2 more wins should be enough. Hopefully we can take our new found confidence into tomorrow nights game & make us sleep that little bit “easier.”
29 June 2020 at 2:37 pm #187346Having beaten both Leeds and W.B.A. away I don’t think the players will fear Brentford at all providing we keep the run going.
Keep the Faith29 June 2020 at 6:25 pm #187365Brentford were Definitely way ahead of any other side who came to Wigan this season ….wasn’t sure if it was because we were that poor on the day (which we were) because at that point they were more mid table than play offs, but they haven’t half pressed on since then.
It will be difficult on Saturday but I think we may frustrate them and maybe get the draw (for which I’d snatch your hand off!)
