The same keys on my keyboard are worn out as I keep saying the same thing but for me today, yes we played well, yes we deserved something and yes we only lost to a very good goal.

Now for my switch to the darkside – BUT

We don’t score because of the “4-5-1 keep possession tactic”. We only create a few chances and we simply have to take them. We don’t !!

Our goals scored column says it all, yes we may have been unlucky today but unlucky over 9 games – No, we are were we deserve to be.

Perfect example for me was with ten mins to go Moses got behind the defence rolled it across the 6 yard box for a tap in and we had 1 player (Diame) who in reality wasn’t even remotely close to tapping it in. Any other club would have had 2 strikers fighting each other to score.

So as I’ve banged my head against a brick wall saying – this possession footy flatters to deceive, we may look good, may give the impression we’ve played well but in reality your not unlucky all the time ar :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: e you?

Totally agree yes we played well, but at the end of the day we do not score enough goals.

There is actually a stat that tells you how many times a team penetrates the oppositions penalty area, guess who is bottom of that little stat league !!!

Right, go on then, I’ll ask you the same questions everybody else gets asked and see if you, unlike them, can find an answer:

1, if that’s true, how come almost every other team plays the same way yet manages to score? (I’ll help you out, it’s because they have better players than us)

2, what proof have you got that putting two up front, and therefore reducing the number of players in midfield, will guarantee that a) we create more chances and b) would be good enough to finish them?

It might work, and I have said many times before that I’d at least like to see it given a chance, but I doubt it would actually make that much difference.

            1. You have answered it for me. I am not actually totally anti the 4-5-1 formation or 4-3-3 depending on who you ask. My issue is how we use it. We spend all the time just tip tapping it around (slowly) and when we do get forward, the aforementioned 5 don’t. Thats the problem.

            2. Again you’ve answered it for me. Playing another formation may not work but why not try it. Even when Rob makes subs, he generally just changes the personnel rather than formation.

So my answer is not necessarily to change the formation its to stop “Over” passing it, lets get it forward quicker, more men in the box when we do and who knows.

Lowey you are so right! I watched this yesterday and most fans around me can see the problem. Unfortunately Martinez doesn’t.

No, I haven’t answered it for you, unless you are changing your original comment. Do you think that Martinez tells them to just try and keep possession and on no account get forward and try to be creative? Or do you think that sometines the failure to get forward more perhaps has something to do with the opposition playing quite well, too. Or do you know more about football than Martinez? Where did you get your UEFA pro-licence badge from anyway, EA Sports?

No I haven’t answered it for you. I gave you my answeropinion which is that I believe it won’t make any difference. So are you agreeing with me?

Ok Griff I will simplify my answer for you.

                1) You said

if that’s true, how come almost every other team plays the same way yet manages to score? (I’ll help you out, it’s because they have better players than us)

I said you answered it for me – That means I agree they have better players than us. However I then explained the “overpassing bit” – Now not every team plays that way do they?

Also since when did I need a UEFA license to have an opinion?

                2) You said

It might work, and I have said many times before that I’d at least like to see it given a chance,

Again I agreed however the proof you ask for is difficult to find with no chance of anything but 4-5-1 ?
