Bearing in mind old potato nose has been talking about being a bit more defensive away from home to improve their dismal away record, should we go for two up front?
I can’t see Boselli cutting it on his own against big old Titus, but if we put the new big guy alongside him, now you’re talking.
I also think it’s going to be key that we play someone who is going to give Richardson a hard time at left back. Cleverley or N’Zog? I wonder if this might be a good game to put N’Zog back in – against his former manager with a point to prove?
I wonder if Kirky will still have his mystery injury which allows Martinez to get away with saying he’s been dropped :o

So it will be Boselli up front on his todd, Rodallega out on the left & N’Zogbia/Stam on the right
I think all the new signings will be on the bench at best
I also thought Titus was out until October?

I can see Boyce dropping out and Stam reverting to an orthodox right-back. So either N’Zogbia or Cleverly on the right, probably N’zogbia.
Agree with the rest though.
9 September 2010 at 6:34 pm #45838I would like to see the same team that beat Tottenham. I dont see why it has to be changed because of a bit more competition. Di Santo, Cleverley and N’Zogbia on the bench would certainly make sure the players kept up the performances surely.

Maybe Martinez will settle for a draw??
9 September 2010 at 7:54 pm #45859I can see old Spud head telling Cattermole to clatterthe likes of McCarthy early on, in the hope his head will drop and will go missing for the rest of the game. That’s why I wouldn’t play Cleverley either.
If Sunderland play 5 in the middle I think we should aswell, as then we will match them in midfield. It will work if we can support the striker well. At the moment Boselli looks isolated and in need of a partner. If the midfield supported him more then I think that would change.
If we did go 4-4-2, then I think we’d get caught out in the middle as N’Zogbia and Hugo will get caught high up the pitch. If Sunderland win the midfield battle then Darren Bent will take at least one of his chances.
