What drugs have you been taking “stam wont embarass himself any longer ” in my opinion he has played well lately and yesterday he played midfield not right back the first goal the yanks scored was a combination of poor marking om Gahouris part and bad goalkeeping
Evra was Stam’s man and he was at fault for their goal with the poor marking of Stam I think, Could be wrong not seen the highlights but at the time I thought that was the case.
Agree Sephton about Alcaraz being more important than Hugo, but I think we need him in the team as he brings some sort of goal threat.
Away from home, in my opinion – Ronnie Stam has been poor. At home, he’s a much better player because the pressure from opposing fans/players isn’t what it is at the DW.
Play Hugo in a 4-4-2 formation, then we’ll see him at his best.

so it was nothing to do with stam giving it away in the first place with his idiotic cross field hoof – or then compounding his initial error by standing watching evra hoping someone else would pick the man he should have been covering up,instead of letting him ghost past him to have a free header(is it not the right midfielders job cover the opposition left full back)

Did Hugo win a single header on saturday ?
Would’t do up against Vidic and Ferdinand on his own!,we all knew that except our leader.
To be fair to Stam, all the defenders saw (possibly heard) Al Habsi coming out for the ball (or shouting to leave it) coz they all stop at tracking back at pretty much the same time
So for the first goal (IMO) the majority of the blame should be laid at the feet of Al Habsi
For the second goal, I know we were down to 9 men but for their 3ft 6 centre forward to score with a free header 10 yars out questions have to be asked of the centre halves & none of em were anywhere near the ball – that said they defended really well for the majority of the rest of the time so its really a bit of nit picking
One thing I’m starting to find puzzling is Stam’s continued use out on the right wing. It appears that Bobby thinks he hit on the magic formula away from home coz it got him a result away at Spurs so this is what he’s gonna use from now on.
Whatever else he may or may not be, he’s certainly no right winger & certainly not in the way that Bobby likes to play them (one of the forward 3 in his 4-3-3 when we’re on the ball)
Could be right there Tyldesley but another way to look at the Spuds game and playing Stam in that position was to counter the threat of Gareth bale in that match
