I find it incredible that a pro footballer can’t deliver a decent cross from a dead ball position, but it is amazing how many can’t.
With respect to corners the idea is to hit them hard and low and use the pace of the ball to provide a worthwhile headed attempt on goal. That’s the tricky bit because there’s little margin for error so they either don’t clear the first defender or fly over the top. I don’t think Ben Watson is any worse at this skill than many of his fellow professionals.
