…Sooooo sweet after what the Dingles did to Kirky. A winning goal in the dying seconds, seems like the players do want to fight for the cause.
Cue all the non super fans coming on saying how bad Burnley were blah, blah, blah.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!20 March 2010 at 9:21 pm #27154Was sweet indeed. The dingles were chucking bricks at bob horses after the game, quite funny when a WPC belted the fookers with her tw@t bat. :D
20 March 2010 at 9:21 pm #27155Impressed by a good performance by Jason Scotland. McCarthy looking class act.
Not at all sure about Melchiot instead of Boyce though.
But a fighting performance. When ever have we gone into 4 minutes of injury time at 0-0 and thought “we’re going to win this”?

Agree with you about Melchiot but the SSN reporter must have been at a different game, he made Melchiot MOM rating him 9. I thought McCarthy was a little bit lost out on the wing. We should have started with McCarthy in the middle and Moses out on the right. For me Diame was MOM.
In the end a very satisfying result. No doubt some of the doubters will be on saying it wasn’t good enough and we should be scoring 6 or 7 against teams like Burnley20 March 2010 at 10:29 pm #27167Impressed by a good performance by Jason Scotland. Priceless result not a great performance but one game when the result was everything.
Oh and thanks Pompey we needed that!!!
21 March 2010 at 1:00 am #27192Spot on Trent….thought we were awful first half (as they were). Second half was much better though, Moses, McCarthy and Diame were all excellent, pushing us forward and creating problems for their defence.
21 March 2010 at 11:52 pm #27291Brian Laws said he thought Burnley played really well, stuck to their game plan and deserved to get something from the game, I thought 3-0 would have been a fairer reflection of the game. If that’s them playing well, god help them.
22 March 2010 at 12:02 am #27293there was a real buzz outside the ground after the game aswell

We had a real let-off when they hit the bar through Patterson. If that had gone in, it could of been a different story.
But it didn’t, and for once, we upped our game, took control, and had some great efforts on goal, through Scotland, and Diame. Then we got the winner, which was a cracking goal.
Great result!

Hitting the top of the bar was the only real chance I can remember them having, we hit the post, Jensen made some decent saves, quite a few very close shots and a number of goalmouth scrambles. We just need to have a bit more confidence in front of goal, tried to pass it in a number of times yesterday when a shot would have seemed the best option.
