In 2002, Wigan Athletic started the season in the second division. Who could have dreamt we would be here now in our 5th premiership season? We are just so young and in response to a person calling our support, how many clubs can actually claim fans who were willing to dip into their own pockets, organise collections and have raffles to pay players wages and so save their football club?
The fact some of our fans dont seem proud is terrible, but im certain those of us who helped save our club will be proud and still supporting The Latics no matter what league we play in.

the playoff QPR year … we were a match for all that year BUT they battered us that day with Teale, Ellington, Roberts, Kavanagh etc. all going thru to the prem with them as well … I’m guessing it would have been a joy to watch as a neutral !!!

It was more like Teale, De Vos, Ellington, Neil Roberts and Scotty Green (who whipped the corner in for Vos to thump the second goal home)
Love the end of season DVD when it fades away after that goal with just the sound of ‘we are going up’ being sung by the fans.
