See you in two weeks! Or will I?… :o31 August 2010 at 3:40 pm #44867You tell me.
31 August 2010 at 3:43 pm #44868Decent review but not exactly giving us the credit we deserve when you say that Tottenham were suffering a hangover!!
31 August 2010 at 3:44 pm #44869Well lets be fair they were, if Spurs had played to their full potential we would have lost. But I think I gave us some praise at least.
31 August 2010 at 4:12 pm #44872Well lets be fair they were, if Spurs had played to their full potential we would have lost. But I think I gave us some praise at least. We beat a team that most expected us to get hammered off.. The hangover didn’t even get mentioned until they lost. We deserve all the credit that comes our way.. Lets face it the pundits won’t give us much.
31 August 2010 at 4:15 pm #44874Yeah fair enough, we do. But we can’t get carried away with one victory.
I see all the ‘Martinez out!!’ and ‘Bobby is shyte’ type comments and threads have quickly vanished. No doubt they’ll be back after the next defeat though.
31 August 2010 at 4:38 pm #44876The performance from the keeper, back 4 & the defensive performance of the midfield was a world away from what we’ve seen at the back end of last season & so far this season so for that they (Bobby, coaches & players alike) deserve an immense amount of credit
I wasn’t one of the alleged 60 who went so can only go off what I saw on Sky’s extended highlights but one big failing that was still there was the giving away of possession in dangerous positions & it was something the commentators picked up on several times. They did it last week & were ruthlessly punished by Chelsea but this week a combination of better defending & a Spurs side who weren’t on top of their game meant we weren’t punished this time round. Other teams will take advantage of it though & hopefully this will get cut out
On another note, I’ve seen on other threads that Bobby seemed to change things both tactically & in terms of how he deployed his players. Now I’ll admit to watching it on Saturday through a bit of an alcohol induced haze & the only thing different tactically that I noticed was Stam on the right hand side of midfield & assumed that was because of Moses & N’Zogbia’s absence.
What else did he change?31 August 2010 at 11:09 pm #44953to me, and i was there and there was more than 59 others, the masterstroke , for want of another word, was the timing of his bringing gomez on. For the first 25 mins of the second half we defended very deep, almost on the edge of our box, this was a nightmare to watch because we are usually a bit rubbish at this, he brought gomez on , and the game seemed to change, we were no longer penned in, and the rest they say, is history, i thought it was a great substitution.
but a am pretty rubbish at reading a game.
